ㅤㅤThe weather was starting to warm up a little as Lisa stepped outside the house for some fresh air. The sun shining through the treetops actually made her sweat a little. It was almost lunchtime and the afternoon sun was really burning her up.
ㅤㅤBack in the morning, Margaret had slowly changed a cheerful topic into what happened last night in the rain. She had asked if anything else was going on besides being away from home and Lisa had reluctantly shook her head no.
ㅤㅤMargaret just nodded back understandingly, but Lucas, who stayed quiet the entire time, suddenly scoffed. It was so quiet the Lisa wasn't sure if she had heard it right. Jungkook who was standing next to her seemed to stiffen. He had grabbed her arm and said "We'll go fix breakfast now", and dragged Lisa behind him to the kitchen.
ㅤㅤAnd now after some sugary pancakes, Lisa was sitting on a bench in the garden and looking at two birds fighting for some piece of food. She looked away towards the beach and sighed.
ㅤㅤSince the weather was surprisingly getting warmer faster than usual, Margaret had cautiously allowed them to return home much earlier. So now, there were only a week and a half remaining until she and Jungkook can go back to Korea.
ㅤㅤSpeaking of Jungkook, he had told Lisa that he was going on a run to blow off some steam. She had looked at him suspiciously.
ㅤㅤ"Steam? What steam?"
ㅤㅤJungkook had just looked at her and turned around and started running.
ㅤㅤ"YAH! What do you mean??", Lisa had took a few steps after him but he was already gone at the speed of light.
ㅤㅤLisa giggled on the bench, oblivious that she was blushing really hard.
ㅤㅤJungkook is so funny. Who knows what's going on in that little brain of his.
ㅤㅤShe smiled.
ㅤㅤI really should thank Jungkook for comforting me last night. I guess I just needed somebody to rant out to, and now I feel much better. Jungkook is really kind and compassionate, I just wish that he had shown it before.
ㅤㅤLisa hit her head in irritation. She should've thanked him earlier this morning.
ㅤㅤI hope he doesn't get mad because of that. I know we didn't exactly resolve our argument, but after putting myself in his shoes, I can understand why he said those stuff to me the other day. Getting your memories and feelings altered must be so scary.
ㅤㅤBut now it was all good. She and Jungkook are going to go home very soon. She can see Halmeoni and her unnies again.
ㅤㅤBut what about Jennie unnie...
ㅤㅤSuddenly, a screech echoed around the forest. It was so faint that Lisa thought it was her imagination before a second one was heard, a little bit louder than the last one.
ㅤㅤAre those coyotes? Lisa remember Lucas telling her about the coyotes that roamed the farthest inhabited side of the island. It was actually so far away that even if they shrieked their heads off, the humans can't hear them.
ㅤㅤWait, if I'm able to hear one right now... it means they've gotten closer to us right?? Lisa shivered.
ㅤㅤJungkook's out there somewhere... what if he met one of those coyotes??
ㅤㅤShe sprang up.
ㅤㅤI need to find him.
ㅤㅤFollowing the path she saw Jungkook take, she jogged for about 2 minutes before coming to a stop.
