Song:
Lose You To Love Me - Selena Gomez

You promised the world and I fell for it
I put you first and you adored it
Set fires to my forest
And you let it burn
Sang off-key in my chorus
'Cause it wasn't yours

I saw the signs and I ignored it
Rose-colored glasses all distorted
Set fire to my purpose
And I let it burn
You got off on the hurtin'
When it wasn't yours, yeah

We'd always go into it blindly
I needed to lose you to find me
This dancing was killing me softly
I needed to hate you to love me, yeah

To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me

I gave my all and they all know it
Then you tore me down and now it's showing
In two months, you replaced us
Like it was easy
Made me think I deserved it
In the thick of healing, yeah

We'd always go into it blindly
I needed to lose you to find me
This dancing was killing me softly
I needed to hate you to love me, yeah

To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me

You promised the world and I fell for it
I put you first and you adored it
Set fires to my forest
And you let it burn
Sang off-key in my chorus

To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to hate you to love me, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me

To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah

And now the chapter is closed and done
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
And now it's goodbye, it's goodbye for us

Author's POV:

The heavy iron door creaked open, echoing through the dimly lit, dank cell where Evy was held captive. Caius, impeccably dressed in his tailored suit, entered with a tray of food. The clinking of cutlery and the smell of freshly cooked meals filled the oppressive silence that had become Evy's constant companion.

Evy lay on the thin, uncomfortable mattress, her hands still shackled. Her eyes, though weary, were sharp and filled with defiance. The sight of Caius, who had once been a beacon of hope and affection, now only fueled her resentment. His presence had become a symbol of her captivity, and his attempts to placate her with food were met with cold disdain.

Caius set the tray on a small, wooden table, the meal arranged neatly with a bowl of soup, a piece of bread, and a small portion of fruit. His demeanor was calm and controlled, but there was an edge of impatience in his eyes.

- "I brought you something to eat," - he said, his voice smooth yet tinged with a forced sweetness. - "Hope you'll find it satisfactory."

Evy's gaze flickered towards the tray, and she sneered. The aroma of the food, once enticing, now seemed repulsive in her eyes. Her anger, already simmering beneath the surface, boiled over. With a sudden, violent motion, she grabbed the plate and hurled it across the room. The soup splattered against the wall, and the bread and fruit scattered across the floor.
