Chapter 3

Hook's POV:

The one time I decide to not sit with Bridget during lunch, I'm with my group again and I'm being questioned about the progress I've made with my favourite princess.

Uliana speaks up first, which makes sense because she's the 'leader'. She is always the first to talk when it comes to plans. "Hook, how is this going? You've barely given us any updates and you have been running off with her more than we planned."

Right.. I forgot that there were set days I was meant to spend time with Bridget. I need to respond to her question,"It's going good, Uli. I spent more time with her because it will strengthen the chances of the prank going well."

She nods, at least she's satisfied with my answer. The others don't seem convinced and start snickering. Malificient clears her throat, "Are you sure that's all it is? You look like you genuinely love her.." She won't stop laughing and Uliana joins in. In what universe would that ever be true? That makes no sense!

"That's a load of crap! Why would I actually fall for someone like her?" I stand up, slamming my hand on the table. "I mean she's so bubbly and smart and cu-"
I cut myself off, I mean what else was I meant to do? She was filling my head with all these positivities and sweet ideas that I almost called her cute. This can't be genuine. It's just for the prank. That's all it is!

All these thoughts swarmed my mind like a fog creeping through a small town. What was all of this? I walk away from my group to clear my head. I've never been like this before. Flirting is what I'm good at and I never got flustered but now look at me. I can't even face my friends and talk about Bridget with them.

Once I reach a relatively quiet area, I sit down. For a moment, I mumble to myself until I hear another voice next to me, an extremely familiar one.. Bridget.

"Hook, are you okay?" She noticed my rambling in this quiet room. Of course she did..

"Yes, princess! Just fine. I was reciting something I need for class." I pull her in closer so we are practically hugging. "Hey.. Do you want to go to castle coming with me?"

She seems both happy and surprised when I ask this. Was that too sudden? Should I have waited? No.. Any more time wasted and Uliana would kill me on the spot.

"Yes, James. I'll go with you." her response has me feeling excited. The plan was working! And I got to spend time with her..

She continued speaking, "I was planning to go with Ella but she hasn't asked me yet and I was too nervous she would turn me down for Charming. And I love you so let's do this!"

Those three words. The 'I love you'.. It left me in complete shock. But I still mutter some words out.

"I love you too, darling. I can't wait for the dance."

This prank better be worth it..
