Blue laid against Dream.
"You know, i miss my brother. He was a lazy slob, but he loved me and I loved him," said Blue softly. Dream nuzzled the sad skeleton as he listened.
"I wish i could talk with you and the others, I want to know what happened and who you are," said Blue.

As Blue and Dream sat next together and a soft light seemed to swirl around them. Blue felt a tug on his soul and startled.
"Are you okay?" Asked Dream.
"W- I-i can understand you!" Exclaimed Blue.
"What?" Dream said.
"Y-you're talking and I'm understanding! This is amazing! I'm Blue, what's your name?" He rambled.
"O-oh, I already knew your name. My name's Dream." Said Dream with a smile.
"We need to tell the others!" Exclaimed Blue.

They quickly gathered up the others.
"What happened?" Asked Sci.
"There was this weird magic and suddenly I could understand Dream!" Exclaimed Blue.
"Who's Dream?" Asked Dust.
"This is Dream!" Exclaimed Blue pointing to the blue and gold dragon.

It took some convincing, but they proved they could communicate.
"How did this happen?" Questioned Sci.
"I have an idea." Said Medic.
"What?" Asked Razz.
"A sort of soul bond, it appears dragon souls fundamentally change during their transformation. It would link the two and allow them to understand each other." Said Medic.

After some studying, Medic dubbed it the Rider Bond. The rider and dragon could speak in their mind, locate each other, and the rider would get some of the dragons abilities. Dragons were benefited by getting some of their riders abilities, a companion, and someone who could do things they were unable to.

Error had been considering for a while. He wanted a rider and had carefully watched the candidates for a potential rider. After a lot of considering, he decided to offer Sci the bond. He had very carefully approached Sci.

Sci looked at the dragon known as Error according to Blue.
"What do you want?" Asked Sci. Then, he felt the faint touch of the other's magic.
"Wait... are you asking me to be your rider?" Asked Sci. Error nodded.
"But I'm just a scientist!" Exclaimed Sci. Error just prodded him slightly with his magic, continuing to extend his offer. After some hesitance, Sci excepted.

He felt the bond open and shuddered slightly in surprise.
"Er, hi?" Said Sci.
"Hello," said Error.

Over the next week, all the dragons chose riders. Razz was chosen by Red after pestering him, Cross chose X, and Stitches chose Dust. Medic was content to just watch and study,

The group readied for training. They planned to do a raid soon, as when Sci hacked into their server, they found several dragons were being transferred to another location. They also learned they were on a large archipelago. The group, known as Scale Shines, had bases all over the archipelago.

Sci had changed into his black and blue rider uniform and headed to where the others were. They had all had a uniform. Hopping onto Error's back, he felt their minds connect as Error leapt from the cliff with him on his back.

The two quickly wove through the rocky pillars in the cave.
'Let's practice an offensive maneuver,' Sci sent to Error across the bond.
'Alright,' Error responded. Error's wings light ablaze as he spun. Error blasted off three quick and powerful fireballs before swooping upward.
'Nice work,' Sci told him.
"Good job hanging on,' replied Error.
