Once Lily had finished preparing her meal, she settled down to eat at the small table in the kitchen. But before she could take the first bite, Lumi let out another 'woof', this time more insistent.

Lily chuckled. "What is it, Lumi?" she asked, feigning ignorance.

Lumi responded with another bark, her tail thumping against the floor in quick, hopeful motions.

Lily couldn't hold back a laugh at the dog's impatience. "I know what you want," she said, her voice affectionate. "But you know you have to wait till I'm done, right?"

Lumi let out a low, disappointed whimper, her head dropping slightly. It was an emotional manipulation tactic that dogs were experts at, and Lumi was a pro.

But Lily was immune to those tactics after years of living with the dog. "Nice try, Lumi," she said, amusement in her voice. "It's not going to work this time."

Lumi tried her best to look as pitiful as possible, still hoping to guilt-trip Lily into giving her a snack. She shifted her weight from side to side, looking up at Lily with wide, pleading eyes.

Despite herself, Lily laughed a little. "Don't give me that look," she reprimanded playfully. "You just ate, you don't need anything more right now."

Lumi dropped the sad act, realizing that her usual persuasive tactics weren't working. But she didn't give up easily.

She walked over to the chair where Lily was sitting, placed her head on Lily's lap and let out an exaggerated sigh.

Despite her earlier resolve, Lily crumbled under Lumi's cuteness attack. The dog's big brown eyes and the dejected expression in them were simply too much.

With a sigh of defeat, Lily said, "Oh, alright. I give in, you win. I'll give you a snack."

Lumi's ears perked up immediately and her tail began to wag excitedly.

Seeing that she had succeeded in her mission, Lumi let out a soft 'woof' of victory, her eyes never leaving Lily as she waited patiently for the promised snack.

Lily quickly rose from the table and opened the pantry, Lumi tagging along behind her, her eyes fixated on the open door and the possible treats inside.

Taking a small dog biscuit out of a box, Lily gave it to Lumi, the dog immediately snatching it with a victorious air.

Once Lumi was settled with her snack, Lily started getting ready for bed. She headed to her room to change into her pajamas.

After she changed into comfortable pajamas, Lily sat on her bed, her mind wandering back to Kai. The encounter had been unexpected, and her interaction with him had left her more intrigued than ever.

The thought crossed her mind - should she look him up on social media? See if she could find him online?

She picked up her phone, her eyes on the screen, contemplating. The urge to look into him, to understand more about him, was strong.

But then she hesitated. Would it be too forward to stalk a guy she'd just met? Would it make her seem desperate or clingy?

Her finger hovered over the screen, wavering between curiosity and self-restraint. Part of her wanted to give in, to satisfy her curiosity and discover more about Kai.

But another part, the more logical side of her, held back, warning her about the thin line between healthy interest and potential stalker territory.

Despite the temptation, Lily came to a decision. As curious as she was, there was a limit to what she felt comfortable doing in this situation. After all, she barely knew Kai, and pursuing information about him online felt like crossing a line.

With a sigh, she placed her phone back on the bedside table, deciding to respect his privacy and wait for the next time their paths might cross naturally.

Lily laid back against the pillow, her mind still whirling with thoughts of Kai. The decision to not lurk on his social media felt like the right one, but a part of her was still curious and mildly frustrated.

But there was no use mulling over it further. She needed some rest. She closed her eyes and tried to clear her mind, hoping sleep would come soon.
