Tony and Bruce were in the lab looking at various data from the scepter.

Genesis waited for them to finish up so she could get her monthly exam to check on how her memory status was at.

After the bombing of her hometown, the trauma was too much, and somehow Genesis was able to forget and leave her past behind in the city. The same city she doesn't even remember the name of due to this odd phenomenon.

Psychologically, her brain couldn't process the whiplash of emotions she experienced that day, and the trauma was too much to bear. It was impossible to tell what would trigger her into her old self and allow her to fully heal and process what had happened.

"Are you ready, Genesis?" Bruce spoke up awkwardly, smiling at the girl who only nodded in response

They checked all her stats, which appeared normal, and asked her some basic questions, which she gave the same response she always did. The repetition was annoying yet necessary in order to ensure the girl stayed within peak condition.

"Tony, we don't need to rush this," Bruce whispered to him, elbowing his side

"Go ahead and head back to your room," Tony dismissed, to which the girl complied much to Bruce's dismay

She hated the lab it was too bright, and it always gave her this off-putting feeling, which rooted itself in her core with each trip.

She lay down on her bed and was overcome with drowsiness. Her eyes fluttered closed, and a picture appeared in her head of a young boy holding a bag of green ring gummies who looked very similar to the blue blur she had seen two days ago.

Genesis body jolted upwards, her breath shaking and uneven as she was blinded by the brightness of daylight. The familiar pain in her head was back and nearly unbearable.  She stumbled out of bed and lay down on her floor, tears falling down due to pain. She couldn't take it.

Her body shook at the unfamiliar feeling, and her muscles all tightened at once. Everything felt as if she was in the graphs of deaths hands, and he was toying with her soul, throwing it between either realm. The girl still tried to remain quiet throughout this. However, she couldn't.

It's not that Genesis did this because she wanted to seem strong but to hide this from her team.

She loved them endlessly, but she couldn't handle more tests being done on her and being cooped up inside any longer. It was destroying her mental health, and she was willing to risk anything to allow just a few moments outside in the sunshine. It's what allowed her to keep pushing.

Three minutes go by, and the pain finally subsides, allowing the girl to get up and pull out her notebook. She carefully documented each thing from the experience before closing it up and letting out a sigh.

The journal was decorated with various stickers from her earlier years at the tower and looked like it belonged to a ten year old. It was able to hide her secrets in plain sight as the Avengers no longer checked that journal to see how she was doing they simply asked her like they would any other civilian.

She hid it back under her mattress in order to preserve the little privacy she felt she was obliged to have. Tony passed by her room, and she smiled at him as he checked in on her.

"You doing good, kiddo?" he asked his head just visible from the door

"Peachy, I was just stretching," she lied, to which Tony dismissed and nodded, not realizing what had truly gone down moments prior.
