*The story using 3rd POV but Wyn as the main focus while slightly talking about Juniper.

It's a call from his father again. He could feel that his mood will go down after this. The pressure on answering his father's call is always heavy. Even when he answers it with supportive friends listening on his back. No matter what, he was alone facing this. His friends could only listen in silence.

A call always led to unending and infinite arguments between him and his father. Or the silent fight on his side. Many "yes" that he would say but never commit to it. It was only reassurance for his father and a big fat lie for him

So, when he picked up the call, the three of his friends could already see his frustrated face.

The topic was the same. His father was anxious about him.

"It's just a hobby, right?" His father asked.

Without much thought–because if he thinking more about it, anger would run through his body–he answered, "Yes."

"Okay, after all, you only managed to have one song that not really famous. It's not world wide known so... that's it, right? You will be back, right?" asked his father again. There was a fear covered in his stern voice, a fear that Wyn might go.

It was on a loudspeaker so everyone knew what they talked about. He liked that way because he feel the support on his back, the fact that it wasn't only him to hear how fucked up his situation is.

"I'm still doing my thesis," he answered calmly.

"But, you'll continue my business, right, Wyn?"

In a long silence of how Wyn didn't want to lie nor answer the question, his eyes were looking at their living room that was basically almost becoming his work room. He could see his guitar on the sofa. Not to mention there are so many papers with melody notes scattered around. It was all his and he still managed to lie in front of all the things he loved,

"Yes."

The phone call ended.

"You should tell your father."

That was Serkan. His voice is hard and rough as usual but giving the vibe that he believes Wyn in anything he does. Serkan basically was raised alone, he has step siblings but he is never close to any of his siblings due to living in separated places. Also, he was the most loved in his family as the first son so it's natural for him to be ignorant about what Wyn was facing. How much fear Wyn bears to not telling his father

The way Serkan said only made him smirk bitterly. Because Serkan knew that Wyn was scared about that yet Serkan still kept telling him to confess that he only wanted to pursue music. He never wanted to continue his father's business.

He found his love in music during college years. Before that, he never complained about continuing his father's business because he had no plan either. Now, he had a plan, he wanted to get free from his father's cage which their family business.

He never knew what his parents would respond but he was scared to get caught that he no longer wanted to do business, yet he wanted to pursue music so much.

Instead of looking at Serkan, Wyn looked at his two other friends, "You think I should?"

"If that's what your heart wants, Wyn." That was Rayinu. He said it with a calm smile. As expected from Rayinu, he always supports his friends' happiness no matter what.

Wyn's head then turned to Juniper.

His beautiful face was calm and he looked like he was thinking. What Wyn always thinks when he sees a face like Juniper is that he looks beautiful, an art, a sculpture. You can't word it with handsome or pretty. He is beautiful as it is.

"I don't know. Don't you want stability in handling your father's business?" Juniper circling his both hands showing the messy living room with Wyn's notes, "Rather than this?"

That actually sting. Juniper is always the honest one, the realistic one. Imagine with that beautiful face, he said things very coldly. Sometimes, Wyn thinks he has no empathy. But he knew that Juniper always being rational and logic.

"Even if later I'm in misery doing it?" Wyn asked. He couldn't help but feel upset that one of his friends didn't really support him in this path. But he thought he needed to know Juniper's reasons and make sure that Juniper understood his point of view.

When, really, it was just his ego being hurt.

Juniper tilted his head, looking at Wyn as he knew what Wyn's thinking, "People always in misery, Wyn. Either way, misery will come to you."

There's always mysterious air around Juniper. Like what he said now, it felt like Juniper had been familiar with misery all his life. No one really knows though. Even the three of us only knew a little about Juniper's pasts. He didn't like to mention his pasts and all of them tried to respect that choice.

Of course, Wyn couldn't accept that kind of reply from Juniper. It's too general, it's not giving the specific reason of why Wyn couldn't pursue what he wanted. Why should he choose stability of his father's business over than writing music which is the only thing he loves?

And the fact that Juniper pursued that line of creative work made Wyn feel this thing wasn't unfair.

"It's unfair. You chose to be a model yourself and what's wrong with becoming songwriter? It's the same line of work," Wyn explained.

Coldly, Juniper only said, "It's different. Until now, you haven't had success, yet. As your father said, you only have one song that only started getting noticed. It wasn't that big. You barely make money from that. You still need your father's money, right?"

What Juniper said made Wyn unable to even reply. He put facts in front of him that left Wyn in silence.

"You will likely fail and land in a worse place if you give up your privilege. Your father wouldn't support you. And what? You still grab that chance with the possibility of being a filthy poor? Unsuccessful songwriter only makes misery and stomach empty," Juniper continued.

"Juniper," warned Serkan.

It hit the bullseye through Wyn's heart. Those filthy poor is a word that they throw jokingly at Juniper because that's what he is. Juniper never minded those choice of words. But when the words were thrown at him, it felt really dirty and filth.

It left Wyn ashamed. They all know how hard Juniper tried to survive in this life. And his problems might felt like champagne problems to Juniper.

His cold advice and his logic are always emotionless. That is why sometimes it is hard to approach Juniper with feelings. Only Serkan that was brave enough to do it. But if you want the coldest water thrown at your face, you should come to Juniper Davis.

"It's enough, June. Wyn already had his cold water," Rayinu said kindly.

Juniper nodded and stayed quiet like he was a statue there. Only moved when he was asked on to something.

Rayinu and Serkan looked at Wyn. He felt the worst feeling ever at Juniper's words but he knew he needed to gulp it down.

Those three of his friends, the strange and weirdly matched. The friends that befriended from his early years in university. No matter how hard Juniper's words or how ignorant Serkan or even how Rayinu always sugar coated everything he said, those three friends are friends that Wyn always needed and called.
