I wrote and posted this originally on my tumblr but put it here to be apart of this.
I watched la bamba for the first time the other night and I will say..wow the way that they made the movie and how well it was executed was amazing and the ending gets me everytime 😭
So here is the fic I made and I hope you enjoy. Also I changed the way I wrote it a bit but apart from that it's still the same.
You groaned as you tossed and turned in the bed desperate to get to just sleep, but to no avail. You looked down at your stomach. You hadn't gotten a proper sleep in ages and this baby wasn't helping at all.
You look to your left and see nothing apart from just air where Ritchie sleeps. You knew he went out with Bob a few hours ago, he must have still been out.
You glance at the clock which read 1am and you sighed as you just decide to lay there and stare at the roof.
Ritchie entered your mind and you smiled. You don't know how you got so lucky with meeting Ritchie. He was just the nicest and sweetest guy you ever met.
You were so proud of him at this point in his life because he was achieving his dream of being a rock and roll star and not only that, but being there for you.
God he was the most amazing boyfriend during your pregnancy and took care of you, he would cook (to the best of his ability) for you, if he couldn't do that he would get his mother, Connie to cook something for you.
His mom loved you alot, she saw you as the daughter she never had and you both got along really well along with the rest of the family..well maybe not really bob but you were still friendly with each other.
When you told his mom you were having baby she was a bit worried at first since you and Ritchie are still young but she did start crying tears of joy that she was going to have a grandchild and told you if you needed anything you can always ask her.
You were so blessed to be apart of this warm loving close family and you and Ritchie were as happy as you ever been.
You then replayed the scene of you telling him you were pregnant in your memory:
You sobbed as you sat on your's and Ritchie's shared bed as you try to control your breathing.
You had just come back from the doctor about why you had been unwell where he told you about the baby.
You felt the bed next to you dip down from weight and an arm wrap around you.
"Baby, whats wrong?" Ritchie asked as he wiped the tears from your face.
"I went to the doctor and he told me I'm pregnant" you said tears still coming down your face.
Ritchie froze for a second taking in what you said before repeating "Your Pregnant?".
You shake your head as you look up at him and he gets this big grin on his face and starts to laugh and leans in and kisses you.
When he pulls away he says "This is the best day of my life"
You smile at the moment that brought you happiness you didn't realise you were drifting off to sleep and closed your eyes.
Then you felt a sharp pain in your lower abdomen 'ouch that hurt' you thought but payed no mind to it and closed you eyes again only for that pain to come back again.
This time it was worse and it came more frequently to the point you were breathing to smooth the pain.
"Fuck" another one hit you and then you felt a pop then liquid gushing down your leg.
"Shit" you cursed as you grabbed your coat and put it in as you went to the front door of the family's home.
You knocked and when it opened it revealed Connie and Rosie giving you concerned looks.
"(Y/N), are you ok?" Connie's voice was filled with genuine concern as you breathed heavily.
She grabbed your hands and you said "Connie I'm in labor, the ba- AHHHH" you screamed as another contraction hit.
"Ok we need to get you to the hospital right now" Connie said.
"I-I need Ritchie right now" you said as Connie helped you get your stuff and held to support you.
"Rosie, I'm taking her to the hospital, I need to see if you can find a way to get to Ritchie" she said
"On it, (Y/N)...I will try to get to him as soon as I can" Rosie said as she held your head in her hands and you smiled through the pain.
"Thank you Rosie, I love you" you told her
"I love you too" she smiled "now go have this baby"
You and Connie walked out the door and She helped you into the car and she drove you to the hospital
—Meanwhile—
Bob and Ritchie were out at the club..well more like Bob convinced Ritchie to go.
To be quite honest, Ritchie just wanted to be with you, he just wanted to cuddle up to you and just relax.
He knows you need him and he was trying to figure out a way to escape the club without Bob seeing him and going back home.
He didn't want to be around the other girls at the club anyway, he wanted YOU and you only.
As he turns to the door to exit, he sees Rosie walk in and she spots him and rushes to him.
"Ritchie, you need to leave now, (Y/N) is in labor you need to get to the hospital NOW" Rosie demanded.
Ritchies eyes widened. Fuck he needs to be with you and you need him so he looks at Rosie and says:
"Which hospital?"

Connie sat beside you as you cried in pain, you want Ritchie here.
"It hurts" you cried out
Connie grabbed your hand "I know sweetheart it hurts like crazy but you've got this"
The door to your room bursts open and Ritchie walked in, out of breath "I came as fast as I could"
He appeared by your side and held your hand
"Ritchie it hurts" you sob
" I know baby I'm here" he told you and he leaned down to kiss your lips.
"I love you" you said smiling
To which he replied "I love you too, now let's have this baby"
