Notes:
(this chap might be a bit short)
It's definitely been a while since I've last updated other than my hiatus announcement.
That being said, I'm so happy to say that I'm officially back and I'm so delighted about the support I've received in relation to this story.
I've decided that for the rest of this story a new chapter will be updated every other tuesday.
Now i'm not gonna lie, I'm not very consistent and i will probably forget so it might be a month between updates but I'll try my best. Also to finish this off the one new thing i'll do is add a couple songs in the notes of each chapter that i listened to while writing.

LOVE YOU GUYS. ENJOY!!

Peter looked down at his phone and flipped it over at the sound of his ringtone. Wade with a fucked up face was what he saw, trademark of wade himself who took it upon himself to add that as his contact name, at the memory of wade being wade he smiled before realizing the so called wade with a fucked up face was calling him, in front of the avengers. Who dont know he's Spider-Man. He quickly sprung into action grabbing his phone and looking at the Avengers apologetically. "Excuse me one moment guys, just gotta answer this real quick" he said as practically disappeared out the door. He got as far away from the door as possible and answered.

"Hey wade"

"Petey! My partner in crime!"

"Wade..we talked about this"

" Yeah we did..just wanted to call you to tell you HAPPY BIRTHDAY" wade screeched through the phone

Peter smiled and pulled the phone away from his ear as it began to ring a bit. He put the phone back by his ear before speaking. "Thank you Wade, i really appreciate it" Peter smiled and said it with genuine appreciation as he had forgotten it was his birthday himself. "Of Course Petey pie, I also might have taken the liberty to get a gift delivered to your apartment, should be there by tonight." "oh Wade you didn't- "Yes i did, none of that self deprecating shit" Peters words fell short. He hasn't really received birthday gifts since may. No Peter, we're not going there not today. Peter has really forgotten how bad birthdays felt since May died. "Thank you. Just thank you Wade." Peter said his throat suddenly tight but he quickly regained his composure because he was going to be professional in his workplace and not cry over a birthday present. Of course Petey, hit me back when you get it, talk to you later spidey" wade said amusement clear as day in his voice. "Yeah, talk to you later" then the line disconnected and Peter took his phone away from his ear and smiled. Maybe birthdays would get better. He walked back towards his Office to find the avengers seemingly looking very tense chatting amongst themselves. "Hey guys-

"It's your birthday?!" Clint said with a shocked expression. Peter looked at them with an equally shocked expression. How had they heard his conversation? Then he realized the sources for his problems were Steve and Bucky. Fucking super hearing. Then he froze. Had they heard Wade call him spidey? No they couldn't have, seeing as his birthday was the first thing mentioned, Bucky and Steve must've stopped listening to the conversation as soon as his birthday was mentioned.

"Uh, yeah it is." he said shifting from one foot to the other awkwardly

"Why didn't you tell us?" Steve said with his usual sad puppy dog look

"I don't really celebrate it so, i didn't think it was important" he said shrugging

"Well we could've celebrated with you Pete" said Bruce

"I know guys, It's nothing personal, i just don't celebrate and we don't have to"

Noticing Peter's obvious desire to change the subject, Bucky decided to strike up a conversation on the first question he had that had not been voiced yet. "So..Wade?" Bucky started, everyone's attention towards him now. "Who's that" he stated with a look towards Peter that made him involuntarily shiver. "Oh Wade? He's just a friend from New York" Peter said with a smile "Even though he likes to call himself my best friend I just call him my friend to spite him" he said with an amused chuckle. That smile. All the Avengers felt butterflies as soon as Peter smiled. It's the best thing they've ever seen. Though they would never say that out loud, only in their heads.

"Well that aside, what did you guys want for lunch from the cafeteria?" Peter said breaking the silence, now moving towards his desk presumably to use his work phone to get Miles.

"Whatever they have, I don't have any specifications, any objections?" Sam said with a look at the other avengers who all shook their heads.

"Okay, i'll get my assistant to bring some stuff up" Peter said with a nod before dialing a number and a click was heard "Hey miles, can you bring up some food items from the cafeteria enough for everybody, thanks" Peter said before the line disconnected. Peter went and sat down in his chair and turned on his phone and scrolled waiting for the food. During this time the Avengers took it upon themselves to shamelessly stare at Peter as he looked at his phone.

When Peter looked up from his phone all of the Avengers scrambled to look at something else except Bucky who held eye contact and had a smirk on his face. Bucky reminded Peter of this dog that used to live in his neighborhood, whenever Peter was walking home the dog would look at him like he was a pound of meat and he felt the same way then as he does now, uncomfortable. Fortunately Miles had reached the door at that exact moment so the trance was broken by a knock at the door.

"Come in" Peter said and the door opened revealing Miles and a cart full of really delicious smelling food that had Peter's stomach grumbling which Miles must've heard by his look towards him as he passed his desk to bring the cart into the middle of the room. He set some food items on the table before nodding towards Peter and heading out the door. Peter turned towards the table and got up and walked to the open chair by the table and in that moment something clicked.

They really cared about him. All the glances and the things they did around him. Maybe he could trust them, maybe he could give them a chance and let them in. At that though he smiled and sat down at a seat near the table and grabbed a plate. He piled his plate high and dug in. It seemed like the avengers were eating while trying to look at him inconspicuously. They were not successful in Peter's book. He struck up a conversation with Tony and Bruce about a recent project they were working on and the other had their own side conversations.

It felt so foreign. Strange almost. He couldn't place the feeling until he looked at all of them.

It felt like home.
