Little note, happy 10 chapters! I've been updating nearly every single day and I've had a ton of enjoyment writing every line. I know I'm not the best writer but I always do my best, lol. And most of all, thank you for supporting me by reading!

The sound of Magna and Luck's fighting raged on within the hideout, the explosiveness of each other's magic decimating anything they touched.

They both had crazed smiles on their faces, the tension that was once there loosening as they continued to fight. Fighting was their way of communicating- a conversation. Exchanging blows, giving each other murderous glances, it was all a part of their tightly wound friendship.

"FLAME MAGIC: EXPLOSIVE SCATTERSHOT!" Magna yelled as he aimed for Luck who was clinging onto the support beams of the common room. The flames of Magna's spell shot like bullets toward Luck's location, the heat searing the wood around it.

Luck swiftly dodged, the wood beam that he was previously standing on being completely consumed by flames.

"HAHAHA! Is that all you got, Magna?!" Luck bolted across the room to get closer, turning the page in his grimoire as Magna got into range.

"Lightning Magic: Thunderbolt Destruction!" Luck giggled, and lightning shot toward Magna, which he sidestepped to dodge.

"Idiot, I'll kill you!" Magna put a hand to his grimoire, pulling his bat out of it as he surged forward. As Luck went in for another close-ranged attack, Magna lifted his arms.

"Flame Magic: Grand Slam!" Magna used all his strength to land this blow, his bat aimed downward to hit Luck who was directly below him to attack. A flurry of flames erupted from his bat, crushing the floorboards as Luck scrambled out.

Magna's back arched, he used most of his mana and physical strength to get that blow in. He panted as he recovered, putting his hands on his knees.

Luck was on the other side of the room, his form slightly off as he wobbled. He had narrowly dodged the blow. He was exhilarated.

"C'mon Magna, tired alread-" Luck was cut off by Yami, who had snuck behind him and grabbed him by the hair.

"You two dumbasses take this outside." Yami's voice was low and threatening, his eyes dark. Luck slightly shivered and Yami released him, making him fall to the floor as he gracefully landed.

"Yeah, Thunder Boy! Let's take this outside!" Magna yelled confidently, yet still breathing heavily as he recharged his mana.

Luck laughed, bolting out the door. Magna followed along, muttering under his breath "gonna kill the idiot!", repeating the same phrase numerous times.

Their fight continued for another half an hour, both of them practically wheezing as they reached their limit. Magna fell down, the soft grass cushioning his fall as he laid there. Luck dispelled his magic, walking toward Magna and kneeling at his side.

"Tired already?" Luck was breathing just as heavily as Magna was, but still asked anyway.

"You look pretty damn tired too." Magna smiled, looking up at Luck's eyes that were a glowing blue like lightning, reflecting the afternoon sun.

"Shut up."

Luck laid down, his head resting on Magna's chest. Magna choked on his words as he did so, but he didn't mind.

They laid in silence, watching clouds pass by and the soft breeze pass through the leaves above them.

"Hey, Magna."

"What?"

"Say something stupid like you always do."

"Something stupid." Magna chuckled at his own joke, and Luck pouted. It was strange for him to not zap him over something like that.

Luck buried his face deeper into Magna's chest, now pulling himself closer with his arms wrapped around him.

Luck looked at Magna, his satisfied smirk as he landed the joke being infectious. Luck's smile was now entirely genuine, appreciating the moment. He whispered, "Stupid Magna," his head placed comfortably.

Both Magna and Luck's face reddened due to the position they were in, but it wasn't particularly unpleasent.

"Hey, battle-obsessed psycho, you wanted me to say something stupid, right?" Magna broke the silence abruptly.

"Mmmyeah?" Luck's voice was partially muted as his face was buried in Magna's chest, listening to his heartbeat.

"I don't wanna get up anymore." Magna said wistfully, as if mesmerized when he looked down at Luck.

"Can I say something even more stupid?" Luck stared back.

"Sure."

"Me neither."

Note:
Sorry this chapter is a bit shorter than usual! It was just a small idea in my head and it didn't turn out as much of a story to add onto last chapter with its insane word count. I hope you're at least somewhat satisfied though haha
