Chapter 97

Xue Yu hid in a milk tea shop.

He bought a cup of room temperature drink, and with his fingers he touched the cup that was slightly steaming, thinking that Yan Jueshen would not be able to find him.

Xue Yu was able to escape from under the nose of a mature and mentally sound man. First, it was because the crowd was too chaotic, and he lost contact with Yan Jueshen. Second, and most importantly, Yan Jueshen was blind.

This should be the reason why he was able to escape despite his weak constitution.

Although it was not clear how Yan Jueshen found him in the beginning, the final result was that he could not find him, and that was enough.

Xue Yu bit the straw lightly, intending to finish the cup and then find a hotel.

However, before this idea could be realized, Xue Yu caught a glimpse of a tall figure that was extremely familiar to him outside the glass window, which made his shoulders stiffen. He instantly hunched over like a thief with a guilty conscience.

After a few seconds, his eyelashes curled up and he glanced at him secretly.

...Why is he haunting me!

Yan Jueshen came out in a hurry. He didn't wear the kind of clothes that would show off his figure, but a loose coat could still vaguely outline his muscle lines, as well as the waist that would make people feel sore if they looked at him for a long time.

He walked slowly on the road, and his slightly empty eyes seemed to fall towards the milk tea shop at one moment, but then, thrillingly, he moved back the moment his eyes met Xue Yu's.

Xue Yu's heart was beating violently, as if it was about to drain all the water out of his body. He stared at Yan Jueshen's movements without blinking, and saw the man stop a passerby in a proper manner.

Xue Yu couldn't hear the content of the conversation at all because of the glass window and the many noisy voices, but he could vaguely guess the theme of the conversation.

He should be looking for him.

Yan Jueshen seemed to have mentioned a few physical characteristics, and the passerby thought carefully for a while and gave a negative answer, which meant that he had never seen the person Yan Jueshen was looking for.

But Xue Yu didn't dare to relax, because he saw that Yan Jueshen didn't have any expression of loss, as if he had a backup plan.

Sure enough, the next moment, Yan Jueshen took out a photo.

Xue Yu couldn't see it because he was far away, but his rare alertness allowed him to quickly guess that the photo was related to him.

In the whitish milk tea shop, a little tomato suddenly stood up from the stool, his eyelashes and two thin legs trembling, and he quickly walked out of the store with shame, almost trotting to Yan Jueshen.

"Didn't you say there was only one photo?" After seeing that the protagonist of the photo was indeed him, Xue Yu's voice trembled eight degrees.

Yan Jueshen moved his fingers.

If Xue Yu wasn't paying attention to the photo, he might have seen his faint eyes that tricked a small animal out of its nest.

But he quickly disguised it.

He knew exactly what he should do now. His tense shoulders suddenly collapsed. His slightly cold hands touched Xue Yu. He said in a hoarse voice that was too tense all night: "Wife, you lied to me."

This sentence should sound like an accusation, but the man seemed to be afraid of his bad-tempered wife getting angry, so he didn't dare to show it too obviously. In front of his thin-handed wife, the sound he held between his lips and teeth was muffled.
