Only the past can hurt like this

After three days of being Colorado marshall didn’t see Katalina anymore but he still thought of her
Today Marshall is leaving back to detroit but he knew he couldn’t leave until he got Katalina’s number or email at least

“Hey paul before while we drive back to the airport could we stop by the Morales house”

“Why?” paul asked

“I just wanna say bye and thank them again” marshall lied

“No you don’t you just wanna see Kat again, you're trying to get her number”

“Okay so I am! Who cares!?” Marshall exclaimed

“Marshall she is gonna be bad for you! She’s gonna ruin your image” Paul said

“I don’t care, i’m getting her number and that’s final”
So before they left they stopped at a small diner to get something to eat, when they walked in there she was, Katalina. She was sitting by herself, had her glasses on, going over paperwork and drinking a cup of coffee 
Marshall walked over and sat in the chair in front of her

“Hey” marshall said smoothly

“Mr.Mathers, what do I owe this pleasure of re-meeting you?” Katalina said in her raspy voice
Marshall loved her voice, he found it very sexy

“Well I'm leaving today and I wanted to grab a bite. I was gonna stop by your family’s house and say bye and thanks for you hospitality”

“Well you are welcome and come again soon” Katalina said giving marshall a small smile

“I was also wondering if I could get your number?” Marshall asked
Kat looked up at marshall with a surprised look

“Why?” Kat asked

“Well i wanna stay in touch, i like talking to you, you don’t sugarcoat things you’re honest and just real so if it’s okay with you i would like to have your number” Marshall explained 
Kat got a sticky note and wrote her number and email address, she gave it to marshall

“Have a good flight Mathers” Kat said softly not looking away from the paperwork

“See you around Morales” Marshall said
Kat looked at Marshall and he gave her a soft smile. Then he left

(ONE WEEK LATER)
Marshall called Kat onced but since then he had been busy, he messaged her a couple of times but she never really responded which made marshall wanting her more

It’s a friday night, 11pm and marshall’s at home in bed watching TV then out of nowhere his phone was buzzing, it was katalina she was calling him

(The call)
Marshall: Hello?
Katalina: Hey
Marshall: Hey, what’s going on?
Katalina: Nothing really, I just got to my room and really didn’t have anything to do and I've also realized that you've messaged me a few times and I never responded. I’m sorry
Marshall: It’s okay i get it, you're a busy women
Katalina: More like a workaholic, i get about 30 messages a day some i reply and some i put on hold and end up forgetting them
Marshall: I do the same thing too sometimes but i’m just not that good at using my phone
Katalina: Well what are you doing right now?
Marshall: Nothing just sitting in bed, you?
Katalina: Same, i just changed into some comfy clothes but i don’t think i’m gonna sleep
Marshall: Why? Is something wrong?
Katalina: No, i just have trouble sleeping so i’m probably gonna stay up late and watch movies
Marshall: What kind of movies do you like?
Katalina: Comedy, 80s-90s movies, i hate romance but i love drama, suspenseful, crime and also a little bit of marvel
Marshall: Nice, i'm not a fan of romance either but i love marvel i could watch all day long
Katalina: It’s very interesting, i love the action of it
Marshall: I do too, who’s your favorite character
Katalina: Definitely Black Widow, the winter soldier and iron man
Marshall: I love spiderman and superman
Katalina: yep i can tell, due to your songs
Marshall: So you listen to my music
Katalina: i heard a few of your songs when i was younger but now i love listening to old music from like the 90s and 80s
Marshall: I’ve always listened to rap and R&B never really been into pop or any of that corniness
Katalina: Same i love R&B and rock n roll
Marshall: Yeah, you seem like the girl that loves heavy metal rock
Katalina: I’ve always loved R&B and when i turned 20 i started to listen to rock
Marshall: So what are you doing up this late?
Katalina: I’m always working, it never ends i’m a huge workaholic i don’t know how to relax, my schedule is very hectic so that’s one of the reasons why i have trouble sleeping
Marshall: Same, i’m a workaholic i’m used to working a lot but now that i’m older and sober i am able to sleep easily
Katalina: What’s that like?
Marshall: What? Sleeping?
Katalina: Yeah, after i turned 21 i have never been able to get a full 8 to 10 hours of good sleep
Marshall: Wow, that must be exhausting
Katalina: It is, it really is
Marshall: Well sleeping is very peaceful especially if your depressed and when you wake up after taking a long nap you feel good, like you got a big boost of energy in you
Katalina: (Giggles) Well it sounds great
Marshall: It is, so i have a question
Katalina: Shoot
Marshall: What are you doing next saturday
Katalina: I’m opening a new bar actually
Marshall: Really? Where?
Katalina: In Detroit, why do you wanna know
Marshall: Well i was wondering when i could meet up with you again
Katalina: You wanna see me?
Marshall: Yeah, so when can I see you again?
Katalina: Well i’m gonna be in Detroit on wednesday because i have some other business that i need to attend to
Marshall: Great how about you just call me once you land and i can pick you up
Katalina: Okay that sounds nice
