(A/N: Happy International Cat Day!)

Some time had passed between Y/N's first mission, and she was getting a hang of the job. She was beginning to even like her new coworkers, just a little bit. None of that could distract her from her real job, however.

Before heading into work one day, Y/N received a call. She looked at the number. It was that of her customer's. The guy that wanted Charlie dead.

Y/N glanced around before diving into the alley beside the Smiling Friends' business. "Hello?"

The distorted voice on the other end spoke slowly. "What is your progress so far?"

Y/N gulped. "I-I'm still working on it. But I promise I--"

"I don't need your excuses. Meet me on the corner of North 6th Street and Fuckwasit Street in ten minutes."

"... Alright."

He hung up.

Y/N glanced around. Would she call out of work with the Smiling Friends? She couldn't risk her reputation there. It would raise too many suspicions. Her eyes landed on a cat, licking its butthole on top of a garbage can in the alley. Y/N grabbed the cat and tossed it in the front door of the Smiling Friends, then slinked away from the building. Hopefully nobody would notice that she replaced herself with a cat.

Charlie walked into work shortly after. He was wondering why he saw me running down the street away from work. Was there any reason I wasn't going to show up that day? Some part of him was a little upset I wouldn't be at work. He had started getting used to be being around, and... he had started looking forward to seeing me there. He smiled at the thought.

Charlie greeted Pim and Alan, who were working together to put a box on top of the cabinets in the breakroom.

"Charlie! I was wondering where you were!" Pim greeted.

"Could have used your help-uh," Alan grumbled, clapping the dust off of his hands.

Charlie rubbed his neck sheepishly. "Yeah, you know, my landlord stopped me on the way out."

Pim's eyebrows raised. "Really? What for?"

"Apparently he's upping the rent. Shocker. I-I feel like I kinda called it when Y/N shot my neighbors dead."

"Yeah, you did say that, didn't you?" Pim grinned. "The Smiling Friends have been a bit happier since she's come around! Don't you think?"

"I definitely think so. Yeah. I gotta be honest... I'm really liking her. I-I mean, like... as a coworker... y'know? Pim?"
