Epilogue: A New Beginning

Anna and her group were still sad about the loss of Alexios, but they still needed to find out what to do now.

"Where do we go from here? It's nighttime, so we need to be careful." Patrick asked.

"I think the safe harbor is the best place for us. Jade is a fierce protector. I'm sure we will all be safe." Isham suggested.

"What about Anna's original home in the great tree? Crisis is her friend, so I'm sure she won't eat you guys." Tuulikki suggested.

"No! That monster ate my sister! She's the reason I went through twelve years of hell! It's her fault all this happened, and Alexios is dead! I am not staying anywhere near her!" Ivan yelled.

"Ivan, what happened? I told you to be strong for me. I know you saw one of our supervisors from the orphanage, and you killed him. Why did you do that? I know he was a horrible person, but you shouldn't have thrown your life away for him." Anna asked her brother.

"After you got eaten by Crisis, I lost all hope. I blamed Patrick for not going with you to protect you. I was wrong to do that. I'm sorry, but I was so broken. I went to a convenience store, and I saw him there. He said, "Anna got what she deserved." That he was glad trash like you got eaten and not someone who could actually contribute to society. That your only purpose if life was to be naga food. I wasn't even thinking. I had a gun with me from my time at the gang. I just pulled it out and shot him until I ran out of bullets." Ivan was crying.

Anna immediately hugged him to console him. "I'm so sorry, Ivan. I never should have left you. I should have stayed with you no matter what."

"The past twelve years in prison were absolute hell! I was bullied and sexually assaulted by the other inmates. The two inmates that you ate especially had it out for me. It was horrible!" Ivan said. Everyone felt really bad for him.

"I'm sorry, Ivan. I can't take away your pain. I can't give you those years back. The only thing I can do is promise that I would never leave you again. I will stay with you forever from now on. I know things will be different because I am so big now. But I am still your sister, and I love you!" Anna said.

Ivan looked at her and nodded his head. "Well, things will be very different now. You have always been my big sister. But now you are my "BIG" sister! But I think I could get used to it. No one will mess with me now since I have such a big sister!"

Anna giggled as he said that. "Alright, I am glad that you don't mind my big size.
That was one of my biggest fears when you saw me again. I thought you would consider me to be a monster like all the other humans. So, it makes me happy that you are so accepting of me!" Anna gave him a big hug!

"I am glad you were able to reunite. As long as I am with you guys, I don't care where we stay." Patrick said.

"Hey Patrick, I'm really sorry about what I said to you twelve years ago. I know what happened to Anna wasn't your fault." Isham said.

"Actually, it's thanks to Patrick that I knew about the situation you were in. If he hadn't come to find me, I never would have known you were in prison, and I never would have rescued you. Patrick, thank you for coming to find me!" Anna said.

Anna put Ivan down, and he and Patrick hugged. Anna couldn't help herself, and she hugged them both and kissed them.

"Isn't there anything else you want to yell Ivan, Patrick? About how you confessed your love to Anna and she fell in love with you!" Tuulikki said.

Anna blushed embarrassingly and immediately growled at Tuulikki as she giggled, but Ivan started laughing. "It's about time! I still remember you gushing over my sister back in the orphanage!"
