Y/n POV

y/n -

Hey it's y/n.

You gave me your number

Mia - ☕️

Hey, you.

I was wondering when you'd text.

y/n -

Sorry. I totally spaced out when I got to class.

Mia - ☕️

Don't worry about it. How about you make it up to me ;)

y/n -

What do you have in mind?

Mia - ☕️

Drinks. There's a bar nearby. Does Saturday evening sound good?

y/n -

Yeah. Sounds great.

Text me the address and I'll see you there

I smiled at Mia's text as I unlocked the driver's side to my car, hugging the gray and purple flannel to keep the gusts of wind from making me cold.

I've always loved the fall not because of the plethora of colorful leaves that would fall from the exasperated trees or the holiday that would follow but because it led to my favorite season. Winter. Never being a big fan to other seasons because they all just seemed like everyone's favorite.

I never understood why people like Summer Or Spring. I hate bugs and the sticky feeling that comes with it.

But there was more to it than that. One of my nieces celebrated both the holiday and her birthday on the 25th of December. She certainly received a lot of gifts and I may have played a part in it.

I couldn't help but laugh at the commotion coming from behind the door. "Who is it?" Rose's sweet voice unexpectedly called out, catching me off guard. Just the mere picture of her trying to reach the peephole made me smile. It was truly adorable.

"It's me!" I exclaim, hearing another small patter of feet fly by.

"Dough!" I chuckle at her excitement. I smile as soon as I see my brother's widened eyes, squeezing him into a bear hug. The feeling of small arms wrapped around my ankles and I laughed when I felt the comfort of my nieces. I let him go and bent down to give them each a hug.

"You came!" Adelaide shouts!

"I did. How is the princess of the snow kingdom?"

"She's wonderful. Although she does miss her knight in shining armor."

I chuckled. "Well, Miss Hastings-"

"Queen." She corrects me and I can't help but let out a giggle.

"Your majesty," I bow. "I do apologize. Where are my manors?" I cleared my throat. "Your knight in shining armor has returned to take you somewhere special. How would you like that, my queen?"

Adelaide jumps up and down, excitement radiating through her body and to Rose. The youngest sister.

"What about me? I'm here. You're supposed to be the Luigi to my Mario." Rose pouts. I put all my attention on the shorter girl.
