Today's the day

The day of the presentation, yes! That's today!

One student specifically has been practicing his presentation for weeks now, every night after school.

That student being Canada.

Out of all of the kid's in the class, he seemed to be the only one to show genuine interest on the teacher's announcement, and when he heard he'd be allowed to chose the animal he'd present, he instantly knew what he'd pick.

The polar bear, of course!

You see, those fuzzy "little" bears are basically his childhood. His mother even made him a cute plush polar bear! Oh, that, and a polar bear onesie. She sure does have talent for sewing!

"Canada, sweetheart! I have a surprise for you!" France called the young boy.

He instantly rushed towards his mother, wearing his favorite polar bear onesie.

"Yes, mama??"

France handed him the plush polar bear she had just sewed.

"It took me a few days to make, I hope you like it!" She smiled at the child, who's jaw had dropped, his hazel eyes were wide. He quickly smiled like a kid on Christmas day, and hugged the plush tightly.

"Mama, you made this?! Wow, it's so cute!!! Thanks so much mama!!!" He enthusiastically thanked her, and gave her a hug.

"No problem, my little maple leaf, now go play with!" The kid left happily, holding the bear in his arms.

Basically all his life, Canada has been interested in all things polar bear. He even learned random unnecessary facts about them.

"Mom! Did you know polar bears classify as marine mammals??? It's 'cause they spend most their lives on the sea ice of the Arctic Ocean!" He often rambles about the creature to his mother.

Although, something he's not  fond of is public speaking

That's why he practices extra when it comes to presentations: To not stumble on his words and "make a fool of himself".

The other night, the boy could hardly sleep, tossing and turning in bed, checking his phone for the time...

"...What time is it?.." He whispered to himself, and grabbed his phone.

"3:15AM?" He then placed his phone under his pillow and snuggled to his blanket.

"..."

"How 'bout now?" He checked once more.

"Still 3:15???" He whispered, his puffy eyes fixating on the time.

He then turned to his back, his hands comfortably placed on his pillows, still not letting go of his phone.

"...Okay... So, I'll start my presentation by saying "Hello! My name is Canada-" No, no, they already know that, stupid, start by saying "Hi! Today, I'll present you the polar bear!-" No! I'll be killing all suspense!" He thought to himself, staring at the blank celling. Out of all the steps of a presentation, he's always found the introduction the hardest to do. So hard that he still hadn't found a proper one, and, well, he's clearly running out of time!

"I'll say "Hello everyone, and welcome to my presentation! Today, I'll be presenting you my favourite animal since I was a little kid! This animal being-" Then I'll change slides... "The polar bear!" Yeah, yeah, that shouldn't be too hard to remember..."  He kept thinking.
