SEOMIN

"5 more minutes mo-"
And before I could finish my sentence, I was pulled up by a pair of arms that most definitely did not belong to my mom.

"We're late hurry up hurry up. Auntie left for work early today remember?"
My eyes shot open when I heard the word late. My body started moving before my brain could process anything further. I ran to the bathroom to change and wash up. Doing my hair and makeup as fast as I could, I ran downstairs to see an unusually calm boy. Something's not right. He's always the first one to be jumping up and down whining about being late cuz according to him "class president can't be late", needs to lead by example or something like that.

"Toast is on the plate in the kitchen. Grab it and let's go."
Again. It's early in the morning my brain hasn't started yet, I do as I'm told and prepare to head out.

"What time is it?"
I asked with the toast hanging in my mouth as I grab my bag and phone from the stool after putting on my shoes. I swear I broke my record of getting ready once again.

"It's 7:30."
Oh. Ok.  School starts at 8. Slay. Huh? School starts at 8... I live 10 minutes away from school if I take the shortcut ... Why was I hurrying then?? I look up to see the responding boy already walking up ahead.

"YAH! YANG JUNGWON GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE. WHAT DO YOU MEAN LATE? LATE MY ASS. OH I KNOW WHAT I'M LATE AT. KICKING YOUR ASS WHEN I SAW YOU"
I ran after him as he turned around to look at me before running off. Once I catch him, it's over. After chasing him for a while he ended up going into a convenience store. I thought he was trying to trick me so I waited outside for him. Turns out I thought wrong when I saw him walk out with a big bag, taking out a strawberry milk and sticking a straw into the bottle before handing it to me.

"That toast was hella dry not sure how you finished but here have a drink."
At least he has some conscience. I take the drink and peek into the bag to see what else he got but before I could get a good look, he pulled the bag away. "I'll be taking this bag with me. I got a few other snacks for later in the day. Just come find me if you need one."

"Why do you get to keep the bag with you?" I said as I rolled my eyes "It's not like you eat it either. You just leave it in there for me anyway. Why can't I keep it with me?"

Jungwon takes the bag out from behind him and points to it. "This'll turn into a bag full of trash before it gets to 5th period and then you'll start whining again. And it's bought with my money anyway. I get to decide what happens to it."

Unfortunately he does have a point and I gave up tryna bicker anymore with him. This small trip ended up taking a while so we weren't too early. Some of the other students started to come in too and the classroom was starting to get noisy. I dig into my bag to pull out my earbuds only to realize I left them at home after being in a rush. I turn around to glare at Jungwon who looked at me with a confused face.

"Stop glaring at me. What did I do now?"
Oh gosh I want to smack him right now. I didn't feel like talking to him anymore, making me lose braincells so early in the morning. I turn back around and just put my head down trying to block out the noise.

I felt two taps in my table and slowly looked up fearing it was the teacher but thankfully she's late and I only see the back of Jungwon leaving the room to do who knows what. How weird. At least let me rest until peace. I thought as I looked back down. There on the corner of my table was a pair of earbuds. No need to think about who put it there. As he should. I guess I'll let him off the hook this time. I put the earbuds on and start to scroll on my phone.
