chapter seven:
when a tear is shed

SATURDAY: November 1st, 2028

"Doesn't this just scream... uh I don't know... maybe we should leave!" Claire was a mess, not to mention that her entire show was canceled. Of all of her worst fears this was by far the top one! The girl sighed softly "we can't just leave, didn't you hear what the police said. This is an investigation and we're all the number one suspects, which means if we leave then they'll just think it was us who did it Alix!".

Claire had spent a solid four hours scraping blood off the stage and no amount of tears helped ease her pain. Alix kept her company but the girl was in distress as she threw the bloody sponge into a bucket of water. She couldn't focus, her headached and her eyes were dry from no longer being able to cry.

"We should go... they said we can say our goodbyes Claire, I'm sure everyone else is there already just waiting for us". Claire sighed as Alix kneeled down in front of her "you can clean this later, it's gonna still be here by the time we come back".

"But they won't" she looked at Alix "this is all my fault, I should've listened to Eleanor, taken what she said seriously so they weren't hurt. I just thought it was a part of the show, how was I supposed to know they were actually being attacked".

"Hospitals are depressing" the girl walked along the hallway as she held onto a cup of Diet Coke. "You could maybe act like you care Maya, I mean last night was a natural disaster". Maya sighed "it was really fucked up Dawn. Besides where were you when it happened? I didn't see you when the police came".

"I got locked in the bathroom, someone stole my damn costume. I was embarrassed and didn't wanna mention that part to anyone. I mean getting locked inside a room while people get attacked! Sounds like the worst alibi you could make".

"Yeah it does" Maya turned into the room, Eleanor sat beside Selena's bed nervously biting at her fingers. "They're not here yet?" Eleanor turned at the sound of Maya's voice. "Uh no, Claire and Alexandra stayed behind. Apparently they're cleaning up all that blood".

"Looks like she won't be wearing any crop tops anymore" Eleanor sneered angrily at Colin as the boy appeared by the doorframe. "Don't be an asshole. She was attacked last night, and you know you could've easily left that tech booth and stabbed her".

"Oh please let's all be realistic here, there is no crazy ghostface killer running around. That shit is just an excuse everyone uses when someone dies or when they are attacked".

Eleanor stood up "why the hell are you here then?" the boy shrugged, "had nothing else to do, besides I got a message from Maya who told me to come here". Maya frowned "I didn't message you, I don't even have your number. None of us do actually".
