<p>For Sirius it wasn't like any other year of coming back to hogwarts no this year was different because a week prior he pulled a horrible prank that almost caused someone to get killed and Remus's secret to get exposed his friends are mad at him he lost his boyfriend Remus and of course Peter and James took Remus's side Ofc they would why should they take his side when he did wrong?</p>
<p>"moony please talk to me im sorry" Sirius muttered beggingly as he got onto his knees </p>
<p>Remus who was reading completely ignoring Sirius finally spoke up "black you don't get to call me that anymore! You lost that right when you played the prank and secondly stay away from me!" Remus said unamused.
Sirius flinched at the use of his last name. It felt like a knife to his heart, sharper than any physical wound he'd ever endured. The distance between them now seemed insurmountable, and he knew he deserved it.
"Moony, please," he whispered, voice cracking with emotion. "I know I messed up. I wasn't thinking—"
Remus slammed his book shut and stood up abruptly, causing Sirius to fall silent. The werewolf's amber eyes blazed with a mixture of hurt and anger.
"You weren't thinking? You put Snape's life in danger, Sirius! And you risked exposing my secret to the entire school. What if he had told someone? What if he had died?" Remus's voice trembled, a stark contrast to the anger in his words. "You say you're sorry, but sorry doesn't fix this."
Sirius felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes. He had never seen Remus this angry before, not even when they'd had their biggest arguments. He reached out a hand, desperate to bridge the chasm between them. "I don't know how to make it right, but I'll do anything, Remus. Please, just tell me what to do."
Remus shook his head, his expression softening slightly but still full of hurt. "I don't know if there's anything you can do, Sirius. You broke my trust. How can I believe you won't do something like this again?"
The silence between them was heavy and suffocating. Sirius remained on his knees, feeling the weight of his actions pressing down on him. For the first time, he didn't have a clever comeback or a witty remark. He was just a boy who had lost his friends and the person he loved.
"I'm not asking you to forgive me right now," Sirius said quietly. "Just... give me a chance to prove that I can change. That I'm not the reckless idiot who hurt you. Please, Remus."
Remus looked away, struggling with his emotions. Part of him wanted to believe Sirius, wanted to see the sincerity in his eyes and trust him again. But another part of him, the part that had been betrayed, couldn't let go of the pain so easily.
"I need time," Remus finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I need to figure out if I can ever trust you again."
Sirius nodded, swallowing hard. "I'll wait. However long it takes, I'll wait."
Without another word, Remus picked up his book and walked away, leaving Sirius kneeling on the floor, watching the only person he had ever truly loved walk out of his life. The Gryffindor common room felt colder and emptier than it ever had before, and Sirius knew that this year at Hogwarts would be different, indeed.</p>
