Taraji has never been very fond of her father, he wasn't very fond of her neither. Growing up taraji and meagan always had to hold their mother while she cried but the older the girls got the less they seen it happen. Their mother thought she hid it well but she didn't. Taraji heard her cries, heard their arguments. She heard everything.

When Taraji turned 13 she began standing up for her mother, she was tired of her mother getting cheated on left and right. Quite frankly her mother was tired of it to but never left him. Taraji never knew why, was it an emotional connection? A spiritual connection? A physical connection? All Taraji knew it wasn't for her nor her sister cause they gave their mother the green light to leave him.

After a while Taraji gave up since she knew her mother wouldn't leave him. She never understood their relationship. She probably never will; she quickly learned it wasn't her job to.

During her freshman year of high school she joined the girls basketball team that her father was the coach of. He made her hate the sport but she never quit. She felt like if she quit the sport her and her father's relationship will never get anywhere so she just pushed herself.

Until her junior year when she tore her ACL an week before basketball season started. She fell into a depression, she felt unless, stupid. Why did she push herself into that situation?

During the basketball season her father allowed her to sit in practices, to sit on the sidelines of the basketball games they had.

Her best friend, fantasia helped her greatly through this tough time. She kept her laughing, smiling. The only person that could keep her happy was fantasia, she was her rock.

The last few months of junior year she met Nia, which after a month of talking she made her girlfriend. Fantasia always thought Nia was a weirdo, she didn't think Nia's intentions were pure. To be honest nobody did, Taraji's sister made it known she didn't like her, both of her parents didn't like her.

But Taraji didn't care, she just wanted to feel loved. Feel wanted. Though Fantasia made her feel all those feelings she was scared of rejection so she just kept it strictly best friends.

Meagan, Taraji's sister always thought Fantasia was prefect for her, so did her mother. Deep down so did Taraji but she was in denial.
