"Please, please, please," Iris begged as she shook Miguel's shoulder as they walked through the halls to get to the lunchroom
She wanted to get better and thus asked Miguel for private lessons in karate. The teen boys initial immideate reaction was no and much to Iris' disappointment it didn't seem like Miguel was going to budge with his answer.
After a few moments, Miguels face caved before he spoke up "Fine" he grumbled while Iris wrapped her arms around him, ingulfing him in a big hug
"You owe me big time," Miguel spoke up quickly into the girl's ear. Although he couldn't deny the sense of pride, he felt that she had asked him for help.
"After class tonight, I'll take you to my house and we can start training" Iris spoke like she was informing Miguel that this was happening and he had no real say weather or not he could show up
Miguel tried to hide his smile. "Is your mom buying pizza?" he asked to redirect the conversation away from the one on one alone time they'd be spending together
"Always, pepperoni meatball, okay?" Iris asked, knowing Miguel was always down for any pizza. The boy simply nodded his head in response.

"Strike," Sensai Lawrence commanded the room, repeating the same drills over the course of an hour. "Again," he spoke, and the students obliged
"Off the floor except Diaz and Thomson" Sensai Lawrences demand was immideatly met, and Iris couldn't help but smile at the chance of a rematch with Miguel
The two bowed before getting into fighting stances. Miguel was now less afraid of striking back during training. He wanted to be the best. He wanted to win. Making his sensai proud was something Miguel strived to do.
His thoughts interrupted by Iris circling him and sensai shouting, "Fight!"
Miguel was the first to strike aiming for whatever he could in order to suprise Iris. The girl had improved with the little practice she had and was quick on her feet, dodging Miguel as quick as his attacks came.
"If I win, you owe me a kiss," Miguel whispered boldly before tackling Iris to the floor and gently tapping her chest to indicate a point
The girl was too stunned to get off the floor without the assistance of Miguel. As he pulled her up, she blinked a couple of times as he pulled her into a hug.
"Only joking, Iris." Miguel smiled as he watched the girl try and come out of her daze, still trying to articulate what just happened
She mumbled something along the lines of 'yeah course', but she couldn't stop thinking about his words. They didn't hold meaning, but part of her wished they did. Was she crazy for wanting a kiss from the boy who had her feeling like she needed to play paper rings on repeat.

"Thank you, Mrs. Diaz, its all so incredible," the girl spoke politely as she began digging into the dinner Miguel's mom had made for them
"Of course, dear, I'm so glad our Miguel has met a respectful girl like yourself." Miguel flushed at his moms comments, and Iris nearly choked on her food at the implications his mom was getting towards
"Mama," Miguel spoke as both a warning and whiney
The woman shrugged as the two teens finished dinner. Iris immideatly offered to help clean but was told to go keep Miguel entertained instead.

Once they were alone, Miguel was the first to speak up. "I am so sorry for my mom's comments,"
"Don't apologize she did nothing wrong. Now you have to help me get better with karate, especially with that stunt you pulled earlier, Diaz. "
There must have been something in the air because as Miguel circled closer to the girl, his hands rested on her waist as he smiled down at her. "What you mean the winning or what I said in order to win?" his smug demeanor was strangely attractive to Iris
She had never seen Miguel hold so much confidence, and the way his thumbs drew small circles on her hips was enough to make her weak in the knees.
"You know what you said," Iris mustered the courage to speak confidently, her hands trailing up Miguel's arms, the boy tensing under her touch
Miguel leaned down and whispered in her ear, "I do, and maybe I meant it."
Iris was completely at Miguel's control. The way he was speaking with her, she felt like she could barely stand on her own.
"Get a room, you two," Sensai Lawrence called from him apartment with a chuckle. The two teens immideatly grew awkward and separated.
"Sorry, Sensai," Miguel managed to speak up as the older man just walked back into his apartment
The pair were meant to be training, yet the teenagers in them took over, allowing them to just live in the moment. Neither having any regrets.
