"Iris, how are you not nervous? I feel like I'm going to throw up," Demetri whined as the group of teens entered the dojo.
The girl just laughed at he two nervous looking boys. "I listened to shake it off before this. I feel like I'm on top of the world," None of the teen boys were surprised. Of course, Iris would say something like that, why did they even bother asking her anymore.

Students were scattered across the mat, either stretching or practicing their form.
"Fall in," Sensai Lawrence commanded, and the teens all feel into rows and lines, many terrified by the man in front of them.
The sensai looked around before approaching Iris. "You, new girl, what's your name?"
"Sensai, my name is Iris," she bowed after finishing her sentence, leaving the man impressed.
Miguel had told her exactly what to do in order to impress his sensai, and so far, everything was going according to plan. The girl felt so lucky to have a friend like Miguel looking out for her to make sure she would succeed. It's what made him so incredible that it was hard to believe girls didn't have a crush on him.
If it wasn't for the fact the girl knew he would never feel the same, she would totally admit to herself that she might have a small crush on the boy.
"I'm calling you lip." Those words immideatly captured Iris's attention,
"Sensai, can you repeat what you said?" She spoke up, demanding respect. A ripple of shock and fear became immideate.
Sensai Lawrence walked back over to her. "You have a problem, Iris?" The girl looked the teacher in the eyes. Staring at him in a way that even he felt slightly intimidated.
"I do, actually. You can't just pick on kids to make your insecure ego feel better. You aren't the man for doing such. " The girl spoke a matter of factly the song 'The Man' playing in her head as she spoke
No one was going to pick on her friends and get away with it, especially not some teacher whose ethics seemed questionable.
"Who are you to tell me what to do, Diaz spar her!" The remaining teens scattered, Eli amongst them gave the girl a thumbs up
Iris smirked as she watched a flustered Miguel make his way to the center floor. Maybe she could use that to her advantage.
"Bow," Sensai Lawrence barked at them, and the two bowed
"You're going down, Diaz!" Iris spoke playfully, leaving the boy to smirk
"You wish Thomson," the girl grinned as the two came back up, getting into fighting stances
Sensai Lawerence nodded his approval. "Fight!"
The two circled one another, neither making the first move.
"Come on, hit each other," the sensai spoke after a few moments
"Sensai, I can't just hit Iris," Miguel tried to defend, but while he was distracted, Iris came up and hit the back of his knees, bringing him to the floor.
Unfortunately for her, Miguel was quick and did the same to her, only he got up and straddled her mock, hitting her chest before getting up.
"Point Diaz," Sensai smiled proudly at the boy
"You have guts, Iris. I'll give you that welcome to the dojo." applause drowned out the rest of what Sensai lawerence was saying. Everyone wanted to defend themselves like Miguel.

"I'm sorry I took you out, I really wanted to impress Sensai." Miguel scratched the back of his neck
Iris nodded her right headphone, blasting 'Marjorie.' It brought her a sense of calm and allowed her to get into her feelings and process that she was ever so slightly upset with Miguel. She wanted to prove herself just as much as he did.
"What are you listening to?" The boy walked a little faster to stand in front of the girl, stopping her from continuing further
"You wanna listen?" The girl offered her left earbud to him, and he smiled.
He took the earbud now standing on her right side, placing the earbud in his left ear. The chorus of 'Marjorie' blasting through.
Miguel, by all means, was not a Taylor Swift fan. He found her popular songs to be quite repetitive and annoying. Yet when he took a listen to this song, it was different, a lot less annoying, but he wouldn't dare admit that. He'd have to secretly add it to his playlist at some point later on.
The girl grew curious. "What do you think?" she asked him, looking at him like a wide-eyed puppy begging its owner for approval
"I'll tell you later on," Miguel said, patting the girls head before giving her back her earbud
The two had arrived at his apartment and completely forgot about the outside world, like it didn't matter nor exhist to them anymore.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Diaz?" She asked with a grin
"Tomorrow," Miguel agreed "Iris" he mumbled shortly after before disappearing into his apartment
