The hallways seemed extra quiet as Iris walked through them, her confidence stemming through listening to Vigilante Shit. Her eyes flickered around before looking at her locker.

The silence made sense now.

Written in bold letters, students had gathered around to see the words 'Slut' written in bold black letters.

"Oh," was all the girl managed to say before putting in her locker combination and opening the locker met by a suprise of condoms filling her locker spewing out.

She heard the yells of Miguel, Eli, and Demetri pushing through the crowd as she stared down at the mess beneath her feet.

Be strong. She kept repeating to herself.

Iris turned around with a huge grin. "Thank you for the present, but these are a size too small."

If someone, presumably her ex, was going to drag her down for being herself. She had every right to get revenge. The laughter that surrounded her, the high fives from random classmates of various grades, it was satisfying.

Miguel mumbled in the girls ear. "Are you okay?" he stood right behind her, leaning down in order to make sure no one would attack her for her retaliation

"I'm doing just peachy," the girl responded as she and Eli began doing their handshake demtri congratulating her on her success at fighting back without the use of actual violence.

"That reminds me, Miguel, I want to try that dojo you mentioned. It might help with all this," she pointed around to the scattered condoms.

"Seriously," he grinned, the excitement in his voice couldn't be contained

Miguel had been trying to get Iris to try the dojo for ages, and now he was finally victorious in his efforts. It was almost victorious. It was close enough for him.

"You are joking, aren't you?" Demetri looked like he was about to pee his pants

If Iris was in, and Eli was in, then that meant he had to be there as well. He was terrified. Demtri was not a pro violence kind of person. He was talking it out with nice words and tattle if necessary kind of person.

"I told you yesterday, Metri," the girl looked at him, confused as to why he didn't think she was serious. She was also serious about her random outburst confessions.

"You brought it up yesterday I feel like I'd remember that" Miguel's confusion only lasted a moment when he realised he had missed the planned hang out "Nevermind" he mumbled causing the group to burst into laughter

"I'm sure my sensai will be thrilled you guys are joining us." Miguel tried to bounce back from his previous statement

"I'm excited, aren't you guys?" Iris asked, met with a shrug from Eli and a terrified shaking Demtri who managed to show her a thumbs up

The girl bent down and picked up one of the remaining condoms. Most of the students have picked up a couple and pocketed them by now.

"Might be useful," she commented before shoving it back into her locker, grabbing her books and walking off towards her class, Eli waving goodbye to his friends before chasing after the girl

Demtri broke the silence. "Why does he have to worship that girl?" he shook his head as Miguel followed him towards their shared class.

"She's the only reason why trash doesn't get dumped on you two anymore," Miguel commented, which immideatly made the boy next to him go quiet.

Iris was one of few girls who talked to the 'nerdy' boys. It put a dent in her popularity but not by much. The girl didn't care if people at school liked her, not when she had the three best friends everyone wished they could have.

From inside jokes to sleepovers every other weekend, the squad had grown to be a tight-knit group.

The boys also did their best not to complain when Iris got to play music, considering the only thing she ever played was Taylor Swift. Demtri secretly enjoyed the album '1989' but he would never let Iris know that. She constantly begged the boys to 'open their eyes to good music', and they liked messing with her.

Especially when they always begged her to pick up a comic book and read one to see if she liked it. Something she had managed to refuse to do since the group had first met.

This is exactly what made them like family. They weren't afraid to say no to things, even if sometimes they secretly wanted to say yes.
