20- Harper

I'm standing in a wide open field full of wild flowers, the warm rays of the sun feel amazing on my skin as the wind blows softly over the field mixing the wild scents of all the flowers together.

Luca escorted me to the council twenty minutes after submitting my request.

"Hello my child" says a soft voice. The warmth of the suns rays turns slightly chilly as a shadowy figure walks from the center of it. "I've been watching you for sometime now and I must say you are perfect for him" the sun warms again as a beautiful women with long blonde hair and soft brown eyes comes to stand before me.

"Now I no you have questions my child and I will do my very best to answer them" her face turns serious "The answers you seek will cause you heartache but the truth will make your shift easier" the Goddess turns around and motions for me to follow her.

As we walk through the field she explains why she mated Nixon and me together and how she felt I wasn't ready to shift when I turned eighteen.

She told me about my father and his many requests to see her and the many times she rejected his requests only to visit him in her human from. She had become my father's truest friend over the years and knew of how happy he was with my mom.

"Ahhww" I cry falling to my knees.

"The bond being challenged" she says coming to kneel at my side "It will be painful but the bond will not break I promise you this. The choice is your my child, you must choose which side you embrace" the pain grows stronger and I coil into myself.

"I'm sending you back now my child, when you reach your earthly realm you must choose for the shift to be complete, only then can you save your mate, only at your true form can you save the one you love" she faded away and I'm now laying on the cold marble floor in the middle of the council room.

'I love you' I think as I feel my mind slip and my choice made.

I'm floating around in nothingness, my body feels heavy and weightless at the same time. The pain has turned to a dull ache and voices echo around in my head.

The smell of spice and freshly cut grass envelop me in a warm embrace as I continue to float.

'Alpha' calls a voice that sound familiar but to far away to clearly make out.

'The rogues are attacking' comes another voice, mixing with more frantic voices as the echo around in my head.

Suddenly I'm crashing to the ground with a reverberating crack and a loud roaring growl crawls from my throat.

My eyes snap open and the caos around me comes to a halt. A wolf I recognize comes running towards me ready to attack but stops as I speak 'Gather the pups, omegas and take them to the main house' the wolf tilts his head then if possible his eyes grow wide and I turns around and rushes off.

'You gave up all those cool powers that come with being a fae to scratch at fleas and chase squirrels' comes a chuckle from my right.

'Someone has to keep you safe when they charge' I tell Luca as his brown wolf comes to stand next to me. 'We need to find Nixon'

Before he can answer with his usual sarcastic answers I dash to the woods following Nixons scent in the wind.

'Rogues' Luca says as we come to a slow halt at the edge of a clearing.

"My worthless sons can't even shift and to top it all off one of them is a fucking fagot who enjoys being fucking up the ass and sucking dick" my moms voice says from the clearing "When Viviana came to me and told me that Harper was bending over and spreading his legs for her mate I knew I had to help her"

'Link Skyler and tell him to go to the east end of the river and bring me a purple flower, tell him to bring as much of it as he can and to bring as many women as he can' Luca tilts his head at me again but doesn't question me.

The rogues from the town start to gather with the others around the clearing, forcing Luca and myself to move so we don't give ourselves away before I can set my plan in motion.

A few minutes later Skyler and a small group of about twenty she-wolves emerge from the forest behind us and I shift into my human form.

"I don't have time to explain but if we're going to get him out safe and deal with the rogues at the same time I need you to just listen and do exactly what I tell you." I take the flowers from Skyler's mouth and tell the women to shift.

Quickly I hand out the flowers and tell them to chew it and spit it out and toss it on the ground, once they're done I tell them to shift back and roll around on the chewed flowers. I explain to them how it masks their scent and alters it allowing them to slip between the rogues and get closer to Nixon.

"Are their any clothes stashed around here" I ask Luca and he runs off and comes back a few seconds later with a pair of shorts and a shirt. "Now you two roll around on those flowers and start chasing me" before they have time to get up from rolling around I run off towards the clearing.

'The rest of you gather with the others, Luca, Skyler make it convincing and don't stop until we're in front of Nixon'

I trip and stumble even yell and scream for help as I run through the woods with Luca and Skyler's laughing echoing around my head distracted me as I run.

I have no idea how to tune them out but I'm somewhat grateful for the distraction of their laughter from my own thoughts and worries.
