I couldn't sleep after Nixon left I felt restless and nervous, I didn't quite understand what a rouge was but what ever it was made Nixon tense up.

Looking out the window as the hours ticked by, the glow in the distance seemed to fade and I wondered if everyone was okay, if Nixon was okay.

It's a little after seven in the morning when I hear the front door open followed by Nixon calling for me to come downstairs.

Quickly I rush out of my room and down the stairs and into his arms instantly feeling relieved.

"I was so worried" I softly tell him tightening my arms around his waist.

"There's nothing to worry about babe" he whispered into my hair holding me tighter to his chest.

A scuff is heard from behind Nixon and I pull away while looking over his shoulder to see Viviana.

"She was outside when I came home" Nixon tells me turning around with me still in his arms he glare at her.

"I don't remember telling you to come in but I do remember telling you to leave" he says in a cold demanding tone that make me want to step back and bow and I'm not even a werewolf.

"You did but it's like my mother always said if you want something bad enough you go after it" her eyes trail down my body before she tilts her head head to the side and says "And giving that this is what your mated to I know it's only a matter of time before you get bored"

I feel my blood boil and my heart break at her words and I look to Nixon whose whole demeanor seemed to change after she said that.

His hold loosened around me and he steps away from my side only further adding to the hurt her words caused.

"Oh" I say also taking a few steps away from him.

"Well I guess I'll leave you to alone" he turns to look at me as I turn to walk away but he doesn't say anything only stands there watching me leave.

This is how it's always going to be with him. He's always going to show affection and seem to want me until someone says something about me or our relationship and I can't say that I'll always be here because the truth is I don't know how much longer I can take this hot and cold game with him.

Muffled voices come through the door sounding as if they're right outside the door but I don't make a move to open it right away I wait until I hear his bedroom door close to open mine.

With soft steps I walk down the hall to his room listening as both of there voices fall silent.

I knew it, I knew he would run to her.
As much as it hurt to admit I know that he's better off with her.

I mean I'm a human and she's a slow aging werewolf like him. She will stay beautiful for years to come even with out plastic surgery and I will slowly age and lose what little looks I have.

She will be able to give him an heir one day and I will not. That's the way this has to be.

I walk back to my room and gather what little belongings I have and leave after leaving Nixon a note.

The dense woods swallow me the further I walk into them and away from the pack lands.

This time I avoid the river where I usually go and head for the cave like coves on the riverbed bend before it disappears into the stone wall.

Along the way I gather a few dead dry branches and small logs to use for a fire and once I reach the stone caves I walking inside turning left down a small stone and gravel path.

I get up exploring these caves with my dad and I know that the his cave has an outlet on its far side that over looks the pack lands.

It's as close as I'll ever be to him again so I might as well make the most of it.

I have a feeling deep in my gut that this is wrong and the feeling only grows stronger when a howl pierces the air.

He's found the note, I think to myself as I work on making a fire and clearing a small area to make a bed.

He could have told her to leave again, he could have made her actually leave, but he didn't and he probably never will.

The sound of footsteps echo in the cave, growing louder as who ever it is gets closer "Harper" comes a familiar voice, but it's not Nixons.

"He send out a search party" I sarcastically ask Luca as he comes to lean in front of me on the stone wall.

"Actually yes he did" Luca says not looking at me.

I huff and continue to clear away the lose rubble and debris "He has her I don't no why he doesn't just accept her and leave me alone"

Luca hums as if agreeing with me before saying "He throw her out his window"

With a snorted laugh I shake my head not believing him.

"Look Harper, Nixon is a complicated guy and I'm not going to stand here and tell you what you should do." Luca says pushing off the wall "but what I will tell you is that right now he has half of his best warriors out here looking for"

Why would he be looking for me? The only reason he is looking for me is because of the mate bond thing.

"Did he really throw her out his window?" I ask Luca trying to keep a straight face.

He chuckles and comes to stand in front of me "He really did" he shrugs before saying "But because of our accelerated healing most of her broken bones should be fully healed by this evening"

"Now am I walking out alone or are you walking out with me?" He ask standing at the entrance of the cove.
