You finally get out of your trance. How could this be possible? You then notice Smith pull out a shovel from out of nowhere and starts digging right under where that tombstone was, he then looks at you and gives you a smaller shovel. You do nothing for about a few minutes until Smith says,
"Are you going to help, or are you going to stand there doing nothing!" This tone of his quickly gets you
to go down to the ground and start digging. "Sorry for not starting sooner," you then say. "It's
just that I'm so surprised about the tombstone, and th.."It's fine," your sentence cut short, "I know
how you feel, this is all very surprising to me!" He pauses than he says, "But, we are solving a
mystery, so we have to continue on." You nodded with agreement to his statement and continued to dig
down.

You both continue to dig down for many minutes, but nothing shows up. Even at the level where most
coffins are placed at there is nothing. After a long time digging, both of you stop, you've dug out around
300 lbs of dirt and have dug down ten feet. You get up, stretch your back, and look directly towards Smith, and he does the same to you. "There doesn't seem to be anything under this tombstone." Smith replies. "You are right. We've dug out loads of soil, yet no coffin or box has been found." You start to think of an explanation to this riddle when all of the sudden you feel the touch of a hand. "Not right
now, Smith, I'm trying to think of a solution to this problem." You look ahead of you, but you see
Smith, and his face is anything but normal, "Wait,if you're there, then who's..."  You then freeze as you
finally notice that the hand that is touching you is colder than Smith's hand, and you notice a shadow
right over you. "Gulp...it's right behind me, isn't it?"  "Yes," Smith replies, slowly backing away.
Your head turns right to where the hand is at, and you see a ghostly, black hand, as dark as the abyss
on you, you then turn your full body over and see a very tall, dark, and hooded figure with no
face whatsoever except for darkness in front of you. Your face shows a shocked and scared expression
and you began to back up, but the figure follows you with its hand still on you.
It had a black, spiritual face, and it seemed that its robes were fading away on the edges.
You felt faint and began to sweat, even in this cold temperature. Without any strength, you stop moving,
that's weird, you had plenty of energy and strength before you encountered this figure, and now
you are as weak as a piece of rotten wood.
You see that Smith can do nothing as he is lying in terror on the grassy ground mumbling weird words
that made no sense. You had nothing in your mind, just the picture of this dark figure in your head. It gives off the feeling of the cold embrace of death and feels like all your fears combined into one,
but then after a while, you came up with something to say. So, with a trembling voice, you ask it,
"W-Who are y-y-yo-u?" Then you hear a voice that is both dark and chilling, giving your spine a chill,
"I AM YOUR WORST...NIGHTMARE," Then, with just a bink of an eye, it was gone.
As soon as the figure disappeared, both you and Smith got your guys' strength and courage back,
you were the first one to move, and you moved your arms and hands up to your head. You are still
filled with fear, and you can't believe you survived that. Then, Smith starts to get back up and begins
shaking his body and then swiping off the sweat on his brow, you both start to feel the cold air again.
You then turn to Smith and ask him, "What was that!?"  "I don't know, but whatever it is, it seems to be the killer." Both of you retrace your steps back to the road where the carriage is waiting.
As both of you two get into the carriage, the butler asks if everything is OK, since he had since the
still, and cold expressions of your face which is not normal. "No need to worry, we are fine and just
need some tea at my place to calm things down." The butler is worried, but agrees with it anyway.
As the carriage begins to roll along the road, you can't help but wonder what that person was
and if he even was a person.
He gave me a chill running up my back, and felt like nothing but death and darkness. He doesn't seem to be a person from around here, more like a demon from- "Hey sir," a voice calls out, it is the voice of your butler calling out from outside the carriage. "What is it?" you wait for a response, "Peppermint, or mint tea?" You chuckle. "I'll have mint."And I'll have peppermint." You being
surprised, turn to see who called out that request, and it was Dr. Smith. "Ha ha ha!" You laugh in
knowing who it was. "You know what doctor," What?" he replies. "You always do find a way to surprise
me."
