"I just, I don't understand what you want from me. What do you want me to say?" Taylor was shouting; incredibly frustrated to find herself in an all too familiar situation. She hated arguing, she hated shouting, but she was beyond frustrated at this point.
"I want you to stop doing this Taylor. Stop getting mad at me for something I haven't even done. You're pushing me away. Stop comparing me to what you've dealt with in your past! It's not fair to me." Karlie was trying to keep her voice calm, but her anger was starting to show as both of them were frustrated with eachother. It was the same dumb fight they always had; only this time, things seemed to escalate for some reason.
"I'm not pushing you away Karlie. I'm just trying to explain. You don't seem to understand. I can't just bend my schedule for you. I told you how busy I would be this week, but it's like you weren't even listening to me. Now you expect me to blow off work because you're home? You know you'd be reacting the same way if the situation was reversed and I had done this to you."
Karlie scoffed at her words. "Really? That's how you want to play this? You're honestly going to sit here and blame me? Taylor... I just, I don't even know what to say right now. I moved some things in my schedule so I could get done sooner and come home and be able to spend a little time with you. I'm not trying to make you blow off your schedule. I know how busy you are. That's the whole reason I came home early."
Karlie couldn't help but let out a sigh as she leaned against the back of the couch, still facing Taylor. She didn't even understand what it was they were really fighting about.
Taylor's phone started ringing on the coffee table. She walked over to check it and picked it up; deciding to ignore the call, she turned her attention back to Karlie as she sighed.
"You just don't seem to get it Karlie. No one ever does. It's always the same. I come out looking like a bitch because I can't adjust my schedule. It's not that I don't want to spend time with you, I just can't. I don't have the time Karlie."
Taylor wasn't even truly mad at Karlie. She was mad at the situation. She only had a few days until she was leaving to go on tour. She wasn't expecting Karlie to be home, so she made plans to go into the studio and get some recording done. Now she felt guilty that Karlie moved everything around for her, but she couldn't do the same since she had booked the studio time and worked out times with producers and musicians. It wasn't something she could just reschedule.
"I do understand that Taylor! You're making this seem so much worse than it is. I never called you a bitch. I would never talk to you in that way. That's you comparing me to your past again!" Karlie finished with an exasperated breath.
She adjusted her schedule so she could spend time with her girlfriend before she leaves to go on tour, and that somehow turned into her being manipulative and controlling and being compared to Taylor's exes.
"It's like... I don't know." Karlie tried, but stumbled with her words as Taylor's phone rang again.
Taylor's frustrations got the better of her as she turned to stare at her girlfriend; throwing the phone in an attempt to get it to stop ringing. "What Karlie?" Taylor snapped with frustration, her tone coming out much harsher than she intended; her phone almost hitting Karlie as it flew across the room.
Regretting her tone immediately, Taylor sighed as she moved to sit next to her. She could feel Karlie's body tensing. She hated fighting with Karlie. She hated seeing her upset.
"I understand everything you're saying. I understand it's your career and that you can't blow it off. I would never ask you to. I never said I wanted you to. I don't even know where that came from."
