Packing for a trip was easy, it was unpacking that was the hard part, but as Liliana stuffed her school trunk to the brim, she felt the opposite. Tomorrow morning, she and Hermione would be back on the train to Scotland. While she loved Hogwarts, her heart ached knowing that she wouldn't be back home until summer. She would have to miss the family movie nights and dinners all over again.

Stars started to bloom outside as Liliana put away her last item — her gift for Professor McGonagall. She knew the older witch liked needlework, so she had spent her last week at home out and about with her mum and Hermione searching for the best designs. She had wanted to get the professor something as a 'thank you' for all her legilimency related guidance. Liliana then wrote a small note, placed it atop the blue parcel, and shut her trunk.

Determined to have her things ready for the morning, she heaved the brown steamer trunk toward her bedroom door and down the stairs. About five minutes later she reached the living room, her arms sore and legs tired. The entire time she had really wished she could pull out her wand and mutter a well-intentioned spell to help her.

When Hermione came downstairs, she had a stack of books in her arms as opposed to her trunk. When asked about this, she cleverly replied that she would wait until her mum and dad woke up in the morning to help her.

"So, what about the books?" Liliana said, eyeing them from her spot on the couch.

Hermione placed them on the coffee table; they landed with a thud. "We need to finish them."

Liliana looked at the clock ticking above the fireplace. It read 11 p.m. She then looked at Hermione — We're almost done, she insisted, a pleading smile on her face. With a sigh, Liliana stood up from the soft cushions and sat on the carpeted floor.

"Where should we start?"

Hermione beamed and handed Liliana An Understanding on Wizarding Accomplishments that Led to Triumph in the First Wizarding War. She fought the urge to yawn at the title.

As the hours passed, and they reached book three, their search for Nicolas Flamel ended in vain. Lilian's eyes had started to droop and the words on the pages became blurry. Unable to fight it, she rested her head atop Magic Untold: A Guide to Mystics and let her dreams take over.

"Do you think it gets easier?" Liliana asked Hermione the next morning as they settled into their compartment.

Hermione sighed a bit, tearing her eyes away from the platform where their parents were. "I hope so."

An hour earlier they had been at home, packing up the books they had stayed up late the previous night reading. Their mum had then called them over to eat breakfast — she made them hot cocoa and her beloved chocolate chip pancakes to make the morning easier. With their stomachs full and spirits lighter, they loaded the trunks in the car and drove over to King's Cross.
