At the end of the day, you crept out your window and walked back to where you said to meet Amethio after making a quick stop to heal his Ceruledge at the Pokemon Center.
You walked in and saw him. Shinx tensed into a battle position, but you held up a hand to stop it.
"You're here. Finally." Amethio said as he leaned against the wall.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Impatient." You rolled your eyes.
"Where's my Ceruledge?" He asked.
"Here." You held up the Ultra Ball.
"Gimme." He demanded as he held his hand out.
"What's the magic word?" You grinned.
He sighed and muttered, "please?"
"I can't hear you~" you grinned a little bit more cheekily.
"I. Said. Please." He said, annoyed.
"Wow. Don't have to be so rude about it." You roll your eyes and toss him the Ultra Ball.
Amethio rolls his eyes and takes out his Ceruledge.
"Feeling better?" Amethio asks it with a soft voice, smiling softly.
You smile softly. Maybe he isn't all the bad. But in your opinion, you still thought his haircut needed fixing. ...Morpeko Head.
He pets his Ceruledge before looking at you.
"Guess that means I owe you one, huh?" He asks you.
"Naw. Friede still has to has lots to repay me. I can't keep track at this point." You chuckle.
He rolled his eyes playfully in response.
"Even if you're annoying, you're too kind for your own good." He says.
You shrug and reply, "Losing family when I was...about 3? 4? 5? It grew on me."
His eyes widen slightly.
"O-oh."
He pauses, not sure what to say next.
"...If you don't mind me asking...what happened?" He asks quietly.
You think for a moment, and then reply,
"I...don't remember that much anymore. All I remember is being attacked by an Onix, a big yellow flying Pokemon, a Tadbulb, and my Shinx hatching from his egg."
He nods in understanding.
"You survived an Onix attack when you were that young?" He inquires.
You sigh, feeling ashamed but say,
"I remember running in the rain. I think I just ran like a coward."
His eyes soften.
"I don't think running from an Onix makes you a coward. I'm impressed you even survived one at that age." He replies.
"Thanks, I guess. I just wish I could have done something." You replied.
It's quiet between you two for a moment, and then Amethio speaks,
"Let me show you something."
"What?" You ask curiously.
"Just follow me. Close your eyes." He says.
You nod and close your eyes. He takes your hand-, no I'm kidding. (But I'm pretty sure he wanted to.) He takes your WRIST.
"Do you trust me?" He asks.
"Mmhm!" You nod confidently, keeping your eyes closed. He sighs and you can feel him rolling his eyes.
"You're too trusting." He mutters and leads you to a spot. You feel grass against your ankles, so you assume you're outside.
A few minutes later, you reach the spot. Amethio lets go of your wrist.
After a few seconds, he said,
"Give me your hand"
You lift your hand and you feel a tiny thing wiggling around inside it.
"You can open now," he says.
You open your eyes. He lead you to a forest. You were sitting in the grass. When you looked at your hands, you gasped.
It was a small Tadbulb, looking up at you with curious eyes.
"How...how did you get this?" You asked him.
He looked down sheepishly.
"I just...found it one day...and it wouldn't leave me alone...so I kept it," he replied.
"That's sweet." You said as the Tadbulb trilled in your hands.
"Do you...feel anything?" He asked.
You looked at him quizzically.
"What do you mean by that?" You asked.
He looked away and ran his hand through his hair.
"I mean...do you remember anything? About when you lost your family?" He said.
"Well..." you said, looking at the Tadbulb. You closed your eyes and memories flashed in your head. Rain, thunder...
Then you saw something else. A silhouette...of a girl...about the same age as you are now...with a Tadbulb...standing bravely in front of an Onix...
"Run, Y/N. I'll take this guy." You heard her voice softly in your mind.
"...so? Did you feel anything?" Amethio asked.
You explained what you saw to him, and he nodded thoughtfully.
"Interesting..." he muttered.
"Why are you so interested?" You asked.
He looked up at you and replied,
"You deserve to know your own memories. I wouldn't want you to always just wonder what happened in your life...that would be frustrating."
"But...why do you care?" You inquired.
"Because...because you're pretty...I mean, pretty interesting. I want to know more myself." He said.
You look at him and smirk, teasing him a little,
"Because I'm pretty~"
He blushed and sighed.
"I said you were pretty interesting. Not that you were pretty." He said defensively.
"Sureeeee. You wanted to say I'm pretty~" You teased, poking his shoulder.
"Shut up..." he grumbled, "don't you have to go to your ship now?"
You sighed.
"How boring...won't let me tease you~" you said and got up, putting the Tadbulb back into the grass.
You let out your Fearow and it stands in the grass, waiting for you to ride it.
"Aren't you gonna hug me goodbye~?" You asked him, smiling.
He rolled his eyes.
"Goodbye, Y/N." He said.
"Fineee." You said, climbing omto your Fearow.
Amethio's eyes glide to you.
"...wait." He said quietly.
You turn your head to look at him. "What?" You asked.
"...just...don't get hurt...will you?" He muttered, looking down.
"Yes, sir" you said, saluting and rode off back to the ship.
(Don't worry, you didn't get caught)
