Amelia's POV

"There's the stargirl!" The McLaren engineers stood at the fence as I attempted to climb out of the car.

I'm so gassed right now.

I knew it would be hard, but physically it drained every ounce of me. My head seemed to move a bit towards the end of the race, but I refused to give up.

Five more laps and I wouldn't have made it.

But I did.

I just finished second in my first Formula One race!

"Congratulations Amelia." Max shook my hand smiling through the gap in his helmet.

"I knew you had it in you. I knew from the first time I watched you race that you would make it here and you would not disappoint. You're incredible." Lewis pulled me in for a hug.

I was absolutely sobbing in my helmet, but no one needed to see that so I kept it on. I also love the look.

"EYYYYY!" I dove into the wall of the McLaren team as we all celebrated. Red Bull drivers celebrating Max also cheered for me.

By the looks of it, he didn't mind.

I'm not sure anyone would. Today was my day. It was proof that girls could race.

I just broke a world wide assumption that it wouldn't be possible.

I've done the impossible.

"Congrats Millie." Lando came over giving me a small hug. I know he was probably upset about the way his race ended.

"You were amazing!" Both Ferrari boys came over giving me a high five.

"Don't steal my seat next season, alright?" Of course George Russell would say something like that.

I slowly walked over to my dad. I knew as soon as I saw his face I was going to burst into tears again. Who wouldn't cry seeing their father's reaction to a race like this?

He's the reason I did any of this.

He's the reason for everything.

"I did it dad..."

"You know I never doubted you for a second. My little girl isn't so little anymore is she?"

"She's a podium sitter in her first race!" I jumped into Claire's arms as I saw her.

"You had me terrified for the past hour. God I'm so proud of you Mils."

"I couldn't have done it without you." I shook my head hugging them both again.

"Go cool down. You have a podium to stand on." She gave me a small shove towards the scale. I quickly did a post race weight check then walked into the cool down room.

Lewis and Max were already in there.

That is a pairing...

I'm sitting with the two best drivers on the grid. This is amazing.

"There she is." Lewis gave me a warm smile as he took a seat.

"How are you feeling?"

"A bit overwhelmed."

"I understand how you feel. I started very young. You were very good out there." Max told me in a very Max way.

"I appreciate it." I gave him a small nodd.

"Hell man she almost caught you." Lewis teased him playfully. I'm not sure Max was too happy about that comment.

"You were quick."

"What happened between you and Norris? I didn't quite catch the wreck. I was too focused on this guy behind me." I asked Max curiously. Max does not shy away from risky battles and more often than not he tends to move along but the others don't. That's why when the team told me to back down, I listened.

I know that I could have won this race, but so could have Lando.

They were right. I would have been put into a wall as well.

It would have ruined my chances.

"He tried to overtake in the worst way possible. I'm sure they'll show it." Max told me shaking his head.

"Yup there it is." Lewis watched the screen and unfortunately Lando was being to eager. Max was right.

"Trophy time." Lewis stood up as we were escorted to the podium.

I may have to listen to the dutch anthem, but today it was worth it. I was listening to the dutch anthem for the top of a Formula One podium.

"Amelia, tell us how you're feeling right now?" The interviewer asked me before I went up to the podium.

"I couldn't be happier-well maybe if I won, but that will happen. Not today, but I have to thank McLaren for giving me this opportunity. I have to think my family. They're always been so supportive. Thank you to some of my friends who flew out here today to watch my first race. I couldn't have been here without the people around me. I couldn't be more relieved to have gotten my first race out of the way and now I just hope I have a future spot on a team next year."

"How are you celebrating tonight?"

"Some well deserved rest. Maybe a drink or two, but I am exhausted. This was a lot. Obviously its the most physically demanding for a small person." I laughed gesturing to all five foot one of me.

"Congratulations for second place in your first race. I think I can speak for everyone when I say you deserve it all."

"Thank you." I walked over to my group and I finally get to see her. First Claire came up to me again.

"I'm so fucking proud of you." Claire held3 tight rocking me back and forth for a few moments. I couldn't help, but burst into tears again on her shoulder.

"I did it."

"Of course you did." Sebastian smiled as he walked closer and pulled me off the ground in a hug.

"Seb." Claire gave a small nodd towards the three football players waiting eagerly to greet me.

"What do you think?"

"I think you are amazing."

Ona's eyes were absolutely shining as she looked at me. She looked so proud of me. She looked so in love. I'm in love with her.

I hugged Aitana, then Alexia, then Ona for a few seconds longer than the other two, but I knew I couldn't act different between the two of them. I am under a spot light.

"Stop crying you're going to make me cry." Claire rolled her eyes as she wiped the tears off my face.

"Now go get that trophy." Claire gave me a small shove towards the staircase. I was almost too tired to walk up them, but the pure adrenaline and excitement around me pushed me up them.

"How annoying does this anthem get?" I leaned over to Lewis and he hid his laugh.

"Very."

"Hopefully we'll change that soon."

"You will." He gave me a small nodd as she stepped up first. Then I followed. Then Max.

It may not have been my anthem or for the driver, but I did hear it for constructors since Mercedes they scored the most points.

I wonder if Ona knows that I'm English.

Although technically my family is Norwegian. We'll talk about family history some other time. I just couldn't wait for a moment alone with her.

As I looked down at her I couldn't help but smile.

She was here.
