Part 1: The State of Duel Links

"Mokuba! Status report on worlds 5,6, and 7!"

"Worlds 6 and 7 are still stable, but the amount of Chaos energy building up in World 5 is huge. This technique called Rank Up Chaos Xyz Evolution is really making things more chaotic in that place."

Seto Kaiba built Duel Links with one goal in mind, find a way to resurrect the Pharaoh Atem, his greatest rival, and the only one able to match him in a duel. To do this, Kaiba interconnected various worlds, along with the past and future of his own world. He explored many possibilities, from the Arc Cradle, to the memory recreation. Only one, however, feels like it could make a change, The Numeron Code. The Numeron code is located in "World 5" as Kaiba called it. In reality, it's an alternate timeline to the actual timeline he lived in.

Xyz monsters were created to be an alternative to synchro summoning in that timeline, due to Xyz materials being a more stable source of renewable energy that relies on dueling. It was in a timeline where the Zero reverse didn't happen. Coincidentally, that was the timeline where the Numeron Code was first revealed, which is why Kaiba is interested in it.

"Seto, I know World 5 is important to your plan, but what do worlds 6 and 7 have to do with it?"

Seto's brother, Mokuba, understood his goal, and while he doesn't necessarily agree, he will help in any way possible.

"World 6 has a bunch of dimension hoppers. They can ruin my plan if they dare interfere. World 7 also shares a similar issue. Their numbers are smaller but they are much more competent, plus, there's one guy in there who I think is on our tail at this moment..."

"Spectre, any signs of movement across the dimensions yet?"

"Not that I know of Master Revolver. Though The World of Heartland is starting to emit massive chaos energy. I believe whoever built Duel Links had this in mind and is probably planning to make his move as we speak."

"This doesn't sound good. I should make my move soon, though unfortunately this doesn't look like an issue I can resolve on my own."

Revolver has been monitoring Duel Links for a while now. This weird place, links the minds of players worldwide, heck, universe wide. Going to the edges of Duel Links allowed him to see something he never expected. The fact that Duel Links is also an extension of Link VRAINS weighted on his mind too. If Duel Links were to recreate the events of Link VRAINS, the Ignis war may happen again, which is something Revolver wants to prevent at all costs. Ai was able to come back, somehow. This means that the other Ignis may be on their way sooner or later. He needs to understand the inner workings of this place to make sure that never happens

"Master Revolver, what do you suggest?"

"I don't like doing things like this but looks like I have no other choice. I need Playmaker's help."

At this point in time, the Barians have been showing up one by one. Quinton is doing his best to prepare everyone for their approach. Kite, however, has been suspecting that something's amiss ever since Mizar showed up.

"It felt like Galaxy-Eyes knew who that Barian was, as if we dueled before, more than once too." Kite was talking to Quinton, who was his teacher and friend.

"You're talking about Mizar? He also had a Galaxy-Eyes. He was hellbent on defeating you too."

"Yes, but, why do I get the feeling this all happened before, like, this isn't the first time..."

"Is it a case of Deja Vu? I doubt this happened before we didn't even know who the Barians were until recently."

"Then what about Galaxy-Eyes? Why did it feel like he went through this not once, but multiple times over. There has to be an explanation for this, and I'm gonna find it, even if I have to look over this whole place for it!"

Kite was a stubborn man. He always tries until he gets his way, and this is no different. "In any case, Christopher, make sure Yuma and the others quell the next Barian that decides to show his face. I won't be gone for long." And with that, he left.

"How's bringing Lulu back going? Any luck so far?"

Declan was near the card shop, talking to Yuya.

"Nothing so far, but I think it'll work out eventually. We're making sure everyone knows who she is, maybe that way, she'll manifest here!"

Yuya was bright and cheery like always, something Declan doesn't necessarily like, but he learned to accept that fact.

"Yuya, what would you do if an interdimensional war broke out again?"

"What's with the cryptic question all of a sudden?"

"Just asking. If we had to go to war against this other Jack or other Aster, would you do it?"

"I don't really know....."

"Think about it, and come report to me."

"Why are you asking this all of a sudden?! Didn't we literally end an interdimensional war recently?"

"Yuya, I've been keeping my eyes on Duel Links and the way it works. We may need to go to war, but this time, it'll be a defensive one. I feel like someone might come here looking for the Pendulum cards, and ends up using them in a way that would ruin everything, either that, or....."

"You mean.... The recreation of Zarc, from our memories......"

"I'm glad you understand. So tell me, are you ready to protect the peace we sought after?"

Not much was happening in Worlds 1, 2, and 3 at this point. World 1 is the memories of Kaiba's past. Stuff that happened when he met Yugi for the first time, up until the ceremonial duel in Egypt. World 2 is a bit down the line in terms of time frame. Kaiba built a dueling school on a remote island. Much has happened there but it came to a halt, at least for now. World 3 is even further down the time line, in the future where the Zero Reverse happened because the power generated overloaded the system, destroying a huge part of the city. This is also where the Arc Cradle originated, though as a bringer of destruction, it held no real value to Kaiba. He wanted to use the Time travel technology the illiaster used, but he ended up not finding any since the members of Illiaster all manifested through memories, much like World 1.

World 1 for the most part, is not gonna be an issue in the grand scheme of things, since it's only a bunch of memories at this point, though Kaiba's move on Heartland City, may just create a Duel Links catastrophe, that spans across all the other worlds.
