Newly weds modern au

Bilbo sat at the kitchen table staring at the golden ring that held a diamond in the middle. He and his husband had just married a week ago and it seems that already they've had some issues. Yesterday morning they had fought over where they would go on their honeymoon, then at night they argued who got to pick what movie to watch, then this morning they had fought about breakfast. It seemed that nothing like this happened until they got married. It made bilbo incredibly sad and he didn't like how Thorin would easily pick up a fight over the littlest things. When bilbo would agree with Thorin so that the argument would perish his husband would refuse and pick it right back up again.

Thorin had been in the living room away from Bilbo. The argument still fresh in the air and bilbo could still recall their words as they argued back and forth.

"You dont know how to clean up after yourself! You are like a child Bilbo! This is just not okay." Thorin held a cup of tea that was sat on the counter instead of being in the sink with the rest of the respectable dishes.

"I am not a child, do not treat me as one thorin! Im your husband for goodness sake! Stop yelling at me" Bilbo said with frustration boiling over. "Then maybe stop acting like a child and you wouldn't be treated like one. Honestly how can i call you a man if you do shit like this?" Thorin yelled as he dropped the mug into the sink making a loud clatter.

He wanted to know the reason for the constant fighting and tension. They shouldn't be fighting for god's sake! They just married!. Bilbo huffed and jumped from his seat at the table and rushed into the living room where Thorin had himself plopped into his chair reading a book.

Bilbo stood infront of his husband clenching his fists "Thorin we need to talk". Thorin saved his spot in his page before closing his book to give his darling his attention "Yes?". The smaller man breathed in shakily "Why have we been fighting so much?..when we were only dating it seemed like we never ever fought and now that we're married thats all we do. I just thought that since we finally made it official we would be more happy. Did you not want to marry me?" Bilbo knew that last part was too much but he truly felt that way. Maybe thorin did realize he made a mistake and didnt want to marry him. The thought alone made Bilbo tear up.

Thorin sighed softly and stood taking his husband into his arms "Bilbo..im sorry i have made you feel this way. I guess i have been stressed out as of recently because i dont want you to leave me though we have just wedded. I have wanted to marry you since we met in high school my love". Bilbo held onto the front of Thorins shirt like his life depended on it as thorin held him like his did as well.

It was all just a misunderstanding..they were both stressed and overthinking with messing up and ruining their marriage that they hadn't realized it was more harmful to the other.

I have taken a small break from "the hobbit and his king" for a little since coming up with some chapter ideas is lowkey hard and needing a lot of brain power. So rn i am doing a one shot!
