It was the first of September again, and you were slowly walking around the train looking for your friends. You peeked into a compartment that had its door opened.

Inside sat bunch of Slytherin students. They raised their heads from whatever they were working on and looked at you with malicious glances. The most frightening look was that of Tom Riddle. You gave them back a death stare and left before getting yourself in trouble from day one.

After a few minutes, you finally found your friends and entered the cabin. On one side sat Sirius Remus and Peter across from them sat James and Lily. You sat down on the empty seat next to Lily.

"Lads, I swear those slytherins are all so weird." you complained, catching everyone's attention "Except Regulus. He's cool." you added quickly, not wanting to offend Sirius.

"He's weird too, don't worry about it." Sirius rolled his eyes irritated. You raised your eyebrow confused.

"They got in a fight because Sirius ran away this summer. Officially he's disowned." Remus explained and you gasped.

"I'm so sorry. If you need a place to stay my folks don't mind." you smiled sadly.

"It's okay, I'm staying with James. You go on and spill the beens about the slytherins." Sirius didn't look sad at all. He was glad to finally get away from his toxic household.

"I have a feeling that they're planning something evil. Mark my words, if something tragic happens this year, it is because of the slytherins." you leaned back in your seat and crossed your legs.

"I swear you hate them more than they hate us." Lily chuckled jokingly and rested her head on James shoulder.

"I don't hate them, Lily. I just strongly dislike them. They are all evil and selfish." you rolled your eyes.

"Hey, where's your sister?" Peter asked, his eyes still glued to the book he was reading.

"She's with her ravenclaw friends. I'm so glad she finally found herself a group of friends. This is my last year at Hogwarts, I can't be by her side for the next two that she still has to go through." you explained.

For the next few hours, until you arrived at Hogwarts, you talked about quidditch. You were playing for the Gryffindor Quidditch team as a chaser along with Sirius and James, who was the seeker.

When you arrived at school you made your way to the great hall and sat down in your usual seats on the gryffindor table. The sorting ceremony began soon.

As you applauded for the new students of your house, you felt a pair of eyes on you. You looked towards the slytherin table and your eyes met with the dark eyes of Tom Riddle. You raised an eyebrow confused. You noticed how the corner of his lips raised up a bit. You rolled your eyes and turned your head towards the headmaster Dumbledore, who had began his speech.

After dinner, you went up to the common room. You threw yourself on one of the red armchairs near the fireplace. On the sofa sat James with Lily on his lap next to them sat Remus and Sirius and Peter rested himself on the armchair across from you.

They were talking about something, but you didn't pay attention to them. You were too busy thinking about Riddle. You didn't like him or hate him, but you were a little irritated by him. Ever since your first year at Hogwarts you had some type of unspoken competition going on between the two of you. You both wanted to be on top of each class you attended. Both of you were chasers in quidditch and whenever you played against each other it would get dirty.

The two of you never had a normal conversation and you only knew him by what people claimed about him. The teachers adored him, for them he was a golden pupil, always knowledgeable, always on time and always with good manners. He was well popular with the girls because of his looks and height. He didn't seem like a bully, but he hung up with bullies. And from what you have seen he was the leader of the group, so maybe he was the biggest prick of them all.

"I'm going to our dorm. Are you coming?" Lily pulled you out of your trance. You nodded and followed her upstairs. You really needed a good night sleep because starting from tomorrow you had to study hard.
