The doorbell rings, waking me up from my deep sleep. I quickly get up, causing my head to spin.
How the hell did I sleep so much?
I open the front door, Blair.
Shit! It's 4 pm?! I slept 4 hours?!
Her confused, slim face watches me, "Right, come in," I finally say, breaking the awkward silence between us.Blair walked in front of me. She had a sleeveless top, accentuating her slim waist and a high waist short jeans. Her hair was in a messy bun, and she had her glasses on.
Not all 22 year old women look this good, not trying to have a big ego, but not all 26 year old men look like me either.
The room was filled with the scratch of pencils and the occasional sip of coffee from the cups we'd made earlier. The atmosphere was surprisingly relaxed, with Blair opening up about her inspirations and difficulties she had growing up with fashion.
I offered her a cigarette, and she took it, placing the end between her lips, slowly inhaling as I light the other end.
"When I met you, you seemed to be elegant and classy, didn't look like the type to smoke," I admit, bringing a blue print over to her side of the table.
"Good thing about being single is I don't have to stress about a boyfriend telling me they don't like when I smoke." She says, chuckling.A few hours passed by like a few minutes, the room filled with the scratch of pencils and the cups of coffee we'd made earlier, it's already 8 pm.
Shit, the party, I forgot to ask if she wants to come to Matt's party."I have a question," I say. She looks at me, waiting to continue. "Matthias is having a pre-graduation party tonight at 9. He said he'll be really pleased if you and Karissa come."
"I don't know Leonardo, everythings been so hard on me lately and I need to finish my collection. But how does he know Karisa?" She asks, her facial expressions changing.
"They're in the same psychology classes, and he heard that she's your best friend, so I have to do him a solid one. Please come," I say, waiting for an answer from her.
"Fine, I'll come, I'll tell karissa, we'll meet at your place at like 9 or 10 pm, we need time to get ready and we'll drive behind you so we know where we're going." She says, proud of myself that I could convince her. She's a stubborn little human.
She grabs the rest of her stuff and puts them all in her car.
I put on a beige, jacquard texture buttoned shirt, with the same texture for the shorts. It's a set, I put on a pair of classic white shoes.
A bit of "YOU" cologne, waiting for Blair and Karissa to show up.I should call her. it's already 9.
I take my phone out and dial her number, "Hey Blair, are you ready?" I ask. King of impatient, why do women take so long to get ready?"We're actually coming to your place right now, Karissa was ready anyway." She says, her voice sounding different, karisa definitely enlightened her mood.
"See you soon then." I hang up the phone, I grab my keys and wallet and head out, noticing Blair's car drive up in my parking lot.
I start the engine and drive off, putting on some music to not drive in complete silence.
As we approached Matthias's house, a modest but well-kept property in a quiet neighbourhood, I could see the lights glowing warmly from inside. The sounds of laughter and music drifted out onto the street, adding to the sense of excitement.
I pulled up to the curb and parked, turning off the engine. The party was in full swing, and I could already see groups of people mingling in the front yard, a few cars parked along the street.
Blair and Karissa's car slid into the spot behind me, and I saw Blair step out, totally speechless. She was wearing a two-piece beige knit outfit, mini skirt, and strapless short crop top with a pair of some simple sandals with a platform.
I don't know who's attention she's trying to get, or not, but she definitely got mine.
Karissa joins her in a simple strapless black dress. If she bends over a bit, her whole ass is going to show. Matthias is lucky.
I walk to the girls, ready to walk in with them since they don't really know anyone. "Oh my god, you guys matched! This is definitely a sign." Karissa says enthusiastically and winks as she walks up ahead of us.
"You look fabulous, Ms. Ames." I say, trying not to get distracted by... her.
"Not so bad yourself, Rhodes." She replies, as we both walk up ahead and immediately spot our friends when we enter Matts house."Blair! You look stunning, wanna check out Matts room?" Max jokes, trying to piss me off, definitely.
"Oh suck my dick Max." I reply. As we all find an empty seat on the couch, Blair sits beside me, her skirt barely covering her thighs.
Karissa takes a seat beside her next to Matthias, whispering something in his ear that changes his mood. He's definitely getting laid later.
"So how does it feel to almost be done with NYU, Karissa, Matthias." Max asks, breaking the ice.
"Actually, kind of good, knowing what I want to do after I finish is definitely making adult life more easy but you know, still gonna be little hard." Karissa says, Matthias agreeing with her statement.
Julian continues the conversation, taking a sip of the tequila with cranberry juice, "Leo knows all about adult life. This man doesn't take a break. He's always so serious."
I chuckle, knowing he's right, but you know I'm a serious man. "You're not lying, but I'm not always like this, I'm a party animal when I want to." I say, rolling my eyes.
"Speaking about party animals, you didn't come here to sit on a couch all night, come let's dance." Karissa suggested, she's surely is a party animal more than any of us here.
Dragging Matthias and Julian along with her. Max had quickly joined in, his playful nature making it impossible for him to stay on the sidelines.
Blair hesitated at first, but when Karissa grabbed her hand and twirled her around, she couldn't help but laugh and join in. The sight of her letting loose, her usual guarded demeanour slipping away, drew me in.
Karissa forced me to stand up, "Don't just sit here, come on, you're dancing with Blair." I doubted her strength because she literally dragged me across the living room.
"Here, he's all yours." Karissa tells Blair, winking.
I stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to do, I felt like the last piece of food waiting to be eaten.
I expected her to laugh, to make fun of me, or worse, telling me to get lost, but she didn't. "Leo," she says playfully, her energy spiked, definitely the alcohol, "didn't know you knew how to dance." She chuckles, placing her hands on my shoulders as her body dances to the beat.
"I don't. Karissa's idea, you know how she is." I admitted, trying to resist myself from checking out her body.
"You're here now, so you might as well dance." She says. The alcohol had started to do its work, dulling the sharp edges of the day and making everything seem softer, warmer.
Matthias's party was in full swing, the music loud, the lights dim, and the room filled with a mix of laughter and the murmur of conversations.
I wasn't sure how many drinks I'd had at this point, but it was enough to make everything blur at the edges, enough to make me lose track of time and place.
The only thing I was acutely aware of was Blair. She was there, moving in and out of my vision, every step she took, drawing my attention like a magnet. We'd been dancing-if you could call what I was doing dancing-and for the first time all night, I felt like I was starting to relax.
Blair was smiling, laughing even, and it was contagious. I couldn't help but be drawn in by her.Blair leaned in close to me, her breath warm against my ear as she spoke, "I need to use the restroom. Can you show me where it is?"
