After that, Alex threw herself into a new plan-one that gave her hope, one that kept her going. She decided she was going to meet Avery, no matter what it took. She started selling her old things, things she'd clung to from her childhood but no longer needed. She found a part-time job, saving every penny she could. Every day, she counted the money, getting closer and closer to her goal.
Avery was her lifeline, the one person who truly understood her, and Alex was determined to get to New Zealand, no matter the cost. She needed to be somewhere she was loved, somewhere she was accepted, and she knew that place was with Avery.
