Ryujin stirred awake as the early morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. She felt a gentle weight against her back and realized with a soft smile that Yeji was cuddling her from behind. It was a comforting, familiar sensation—Yeji's warmth enveloping her like a protective cocoon.
For a moment, Ryujin forgot how much taller Yeji was, especially since Yeji usually acted like the clingy one in their relationship. It was easy to overlook the difference in their sizes when Yeji was always the one nuzzling into her side, seeking affection like a needy kitten.
Ryujin turned around carefully in Yeji's embrace, not wanting to wake her. As she faced Yeji, she couldn't help but smile at the sight of her girlfriend's peaceful expression. Yeji's orange hair was slightly tousled, and her dragon features—her wings, tail, and the small, scale-like appendages on her face—were relaxed, giving her an almost serene appearance.
Ryujin reached up, gently scratching under Yeji's chin. She leaned in and placed a soft kiss on the spot, causing Yeji to purr quietly in her sleep. The sound was so tender, so utterly endearing, that it made Ryujin's heart swell with affection.
"Good morning, my dragon," Ryujin whispered, continuing to scratch Yeji's chin. Yeji's purring grew louder, and she unconsciously leaned into Ryujin's touch, her grip tightening slightly around Ryujin's waist.
Ryujin chuckled softly, pressing another kiss to Yeji's chin. "You're so cute when you're like this," she murmured, tracing her fingers along Yeji's jawline. "It's hard to believe you're the same dragon hybrid who terrifies everyone else."
Yeji's wings fluttered slightly in her sleep, a contented hum escaping her lips as she snuggled closer to Ryujin. Even in her dreams, it seemed, Yeji couldn't get enough of being close to her.
Ryujin watched Yeji with a mixture of amusement and adoration, marveling at how lucky she was to have this incredible, powerful being in her life—someone who was fierce on the battlefield yet so soft and loving in private moments like this.
As Yeji's purring continued, Ryujin's thoughts drifted to how their relationship had evolved. What had started as an unexpected and intense connection had blossomed into something beautiful, something that filled her with a sense of peace she hadn't known she was missing.
"I love you," Ryujin whispered, though she wasn't sure if Yeji could hear her through her dreams. It didn't matter—Ryujin knew that Yeji felt the same way, that her actions spoke volumes even when words were unspoken.
Yeji's tail curled around Ryujin's leg, holding her in place as if even in her sleep, she couldn't bear to let Ryujin go. Ryujin smiled, her heart full, and settled back against the pillows, content to spend a few more moments just basking in the warmth and comfort of being in Yeji's arms.
Ryujin carefully sat up in bed, feeling the slight weight of Yeji's arms still wrapped around her waist. She looked down at Yeji, whose peaceful expression made her heart flutter. As she gently tried to untangle herself and slip out of bed, Yeji stirred, her eyelids fluttering open.
Yeji's amber eyes met Ryujin's, and for a moment, she seemed disoriented, as if she were still half-dreaming. Then, with a sleepy pout, Yeji tightened her grip around Ryujin's waist. "Don't go," she murmured, her voice soft and almost pleading.
Ryujin couldn't help but laugh softly at the sight. "I'm not going anywhere, Yeji," she reassured her, brushing a stray strand of hair away from Yeji's face. "I just need to make us some breakfast."
Yeji blinked a few times, her eyes still heavy with sleep, before she nodded. But instead of letting go, she snuggled closer, burying her face in the crook of Ryujin's neck. Ryujin felt a warm, fluttery sensation in her chest at the simple, affectionate gesture.
