Everyone was familiar with reading tea leaves in Divination, a standard exercise designed to give glimpses into the future. Though visions could be uncertain, changeable, or their meanings obscure, Poppy was determined to delve into what love might have in store for her.
Mary wondered whether such a basic form of divination could truly reveal matters of the heart, given that the shapes in the leaves were uncontrollable. Nonetheless, she was excited to see if there might be something promising about her own future in love.
The three of them sipped their teas, their faces lit up with youthful excitement as they chatted and giggled about potential romantic prospects. The atmosphere quickly became infectious, and Mary found herself caught up in their playful banter. Their whispered conversations and shared laughter soon attracted the attention of Ominis and Sebastian.
"What's got you all so cheerful?" Sebastian asked, his smirk widening as he leaned in slightly to catch a glimpse of their animated discussion.
Poppy exchanged a conspiratorial glance with Natsai, her grin widening mischievously. "Oh, it's a secret, Sebastian. Just some girl talk," she replied, her tone evasive and playful.
The girls burst into more laughter, clearly enjoying their little secret.
Ominis tilted his head in their direction, trying to maintain a serious demeanor despite the sound of their giggles and whispered conversations.
"I sense mischief in the air," he remarked with mock seriousness. "What on earth are you three plotting over there?"
Poppy grinned and exchanged a knowing glance with Natsai before responding. "Oh, just something," she said evasively, prompting the girls to burst into more laughter.
Mary, feeling a bit more at ease, added with a teasing smile, "We're just having some fun with our tea leaves."
Ominis raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "And what fascinating revelations have you uncovered so far?"
Natsai leaned in closer, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Nothing concrete yet, but there might be something interesting if we keep looking."
But Poppy, with excitement bubbling over, blurted out, "We're trying to see what our love lives might look like!" Her face flushed with embarrassment as she realized she had let the secret slip.
Mary just smiled, clearly enjoying the unexpected honesty. "Looks like Poppy couldn't keep the secret," she said with a grin.
Sebastian, who had been listening intently, couldn't hide his amusement. "Love lives, you say? Now that's something I'd like to hear about."
Poppy, still blushing, shot him a playful look. "Sorry, Sebastian. This is strictly a girls-only matter."
Sebastian chuckled, clearly entertained by the exchange. "Fair enough. I suppose I'll just have to remain in suspense."
Ominis, still amused, added, "Indeed. We'll eagerly await any revelations you choose to share."
As the others began examining their tea leaves, the conversation shifted to more girl talk. The three girls started discussing the various handsome boys around Hogwarts, giggling and sharing their opinions.
"I think Cedric Diggory is just the most charming," Poppy said with a dreamy sigh. "I mean, have you seen him with that Quidditch gear?"
Natsai nodded in agreement. "He does have a certain charisma, doesn't he? But what about Viktor Krum? I heard he's quite the catch. It's just a shame he studies at Durmstrang. We only get to see him during Quidditch competitions."
