BAILEY ASHFORD'S POV
I closed Madison's diary. I saw her diary in the GYM. I have to get her. I quickly ran to my car. Out of all places, why does it have to be the bridge?! I combed my hair back in frustration. I drove as fast as I can. The bridge is where the most people suicide on. No one would even know until they found their bloody body. It's a cold, deep lake. If you don't swim, you won't go up. That's not how it works. When I finally arrived, I saw Madison on the flat surface of the cemented bridge. "MADDY!" I shouted and her head snapped at me. "Bailey?" I heard her as I walk up to her but she held up her hand. "Come on, Maddy." I said but she shook her head, looking down at the river. "No one even stopped you?" I asked as people pass by us. "YOU DIDN'T EVEN HELP HER!" I screamed at them as they hurried away. "Bailey, stop it. You found my diary, didn't you?" She asked and I nodded softly. "You don't have to do this." I told her as I took one long step towards her. "Stop it, you know what I've been through. Let me do this." She said.
I immediately ran up to her and hugged her waist, pulling her down with me. She started getting out of my grip but I held on to her. "Please, don't do it." She stopped and took a deep breath. "Please let me go." She whispered, I cautiously let go of her, she faced me. I gently touched her cheek. "Why did you come here?" She asked me. "You didn't stop Amanda from bullying me." She added, I gently held her cheek, looking deeply inside her eyes. "It's because I knew you were strong. I guess I was, mistaken." I told her, she smiled softly. "Please. Think about what your mother will feel." She then looked down. I did what I did to her at the campfire. I held her chin and made her look up. "You're making this hard." She told me and I smiled softly. "I'm doing it on purpose." I told her. "Please," She paused. "tell my mom to cook eggs and bacon every morning." She said, as quick as possible before pushing me off and jumping.
I immediately stood up and try to grab her but I was too late. "MADDY!" I screamed but she already dropped in the icy water. I stared at it, breathing quickly before I ran down the cemented staircase. When I reached the sandy floor, I removed my shoes and jumped in. I opened my eyes, I saw her swimming down. I saw down behind her. When I reached her, she grabbed a hold of a big rock. I placed a hand on her shoulder and her head turned to me. Her eyes widened and tried pushing me away with one hand. I just shook my head, holding on the rock again. It's freezing cold but I didn't care. I am NOT leaving her. I just started to see how amazing she is. She tried prying my hands off but I grabbed to another rock. I was losing air in me, my vision becoming blurry and all I felt after that was her hand on mine before darkness took over my body.
