As we walked, the scenery striked me as odd. The paths to the dining hall and campsite were mostly cleared off, but this path was... different. The path itself was thin, thinner than the other two, at least, and trees shaded the area, allowing almost no light to get in, even during the daytime.
As Rosa and I approached the shed, we noticed the door to it was still open, and inside was a girl in a yellow dress and ponytail. She was facing the inside, so she had no idea we were near.
We both quieted our steps, inching closer to the shed. The girl suspected nothing... until I accidentally stepped on a twig.
"GAH-"
The girl whipped around, looking at us both with wide eyes. Her breathing fastened before just as quickly dying down.
"You- m-may I help you?"
She seemed scared.
"Sorry, we didn't mean to startle you," Rosa bashfully told her, "We're here to tell you that you need to come back to the Cabin Site."
"The Cabin Site," she echoed, "Oh, right! Sorry! I guess I shouldn't have left in the first place."
"Well, why did you leave?" I asked.
The girl brushed through a strand of her hair before nervously replying, "Everyone else was going their own way, so I decided to come here. I thought sooner or later someone would join me but..."
She sighed. Ouch.
"Don't worry," Rosa assured, putting on her iconic grin, "I'll make sure you're not left out next time. What is your name?"
"Riya."
"That's a pretty name!" Rosa complimented, "I'm Rosa Maria, this is Ally."
Riya gives a muttered 'hi,' before her eyes anxiously dart to the side again.
"Hey, you ok?" I asked, tilting my head, "You seem on the edge."
"...."
Riya backed up a bit more into the shed, and motioned us to come in. I raised an eyebrow before complying, taking a small step in. My eyes widened when I saw it.
The walls were covered in tools... no, weapons. Knives, chainsaws, axes... hell, I think I even saw a sword.
"Woah! This is really creepy!" I exclaimed, stepping out immediately after. Not that I suspected Riya to do anything with the weapons, but I don't trust myself around sharp objects like that.
Rosa grit her teeth, "First the creepy card Kristal gave us, and now this. I've just about had it," she held her hand out for Riya, "Come on, let's go."
Without another word, Riya nodded and placed her hand over Rosa's, allowing Rosa to hold her. Rosa carefully guided her out of the shed before starting to walk back to the Cabin Site. I followed behind.
I felt a bit bad for Riya. She seemed a bit timid and scared. It doesn't help that she went to the creepiest place this island has to offer.
At least she seemed at ease when Rosa is here. ...In fact, I think Rosa could make anyone calm. I've only known her for an hour, but I get this motherly vibe from her.
We arrived back at the Cabin Site, and Kristal immediately perked her initially-bored head.
"Great! You're back! And with the last person, that's good."
She raised her arms, "Everybody, gather up!"
Everyone created a small crowd in front of Kristal. Kristal smirked, crossing her arms, as if she's happy she can order us around. Her smile falters, though.
