Angel's POV
I went down to the kitchen where I was met by a visibly upset and worried Toby. He approached me as soon as he saw me and gave me a kiss "You look beautiful."
I smiled slightly "Thank you love."
He looked at me like he was trying to read me and then he said "Come."
He took my hand and led me to the swing. When we sat down he pulled my legs over his thighs.
"How are you feeling?" he asked me as he caressed my calf
"I'm fine." I avoided looking into his eyes because it was a lie. I was not fine, I was upset and hurt.
"Angel.." he let out a breath "I know you're hurt, you don't have to pretend in front of me."
I finally looked into his eyes and started to cry, after fighting not to cry all day. He pulled me close and kissed my head "I'm sorry baby, you didn't deserve this."
"I just don't understand, I thought they were my friends. And then I find out that they were talking behind my back." I wiped my tears "I didn't do anything to them, I tried to always be honest and supported them in everything."
"I know, I'm surprised too." he told me
"After our first date, after I came here, I immediately told Kaz that I liked you and that I was going to get to know you. I told her that we had a connection and that I wanted to explore it. And she was fine with that, she didn't say that it bothered her. And then today I find out that it was all an act, and that she's talking trash about our relationship."
"Are you going to talk to them?" Toby asked me
"Yeah, I have to. I don't want to leave it unresolved and then make everyone uncomfortable." I breathed out "But I'm totally done with them, I just have to hold out here for a few more days and then I can finally go home."
"You want to go home?" he asked me worriedly
"At this point yes." I looked at him "I don't trust anyone anymore, they're all full of shit."
It was true, I am so disappointed in all of them. They behaved in such a way that I would never have suspected that they were gossiping about me.
"I don't know who to trust either after everything." he said and let out a breath "I only trust you."
I smiled "Yeah, I only trust you too, that's why I can't wait to get out so we can continue with our lives away from all of them."
After I stopped crying and calmed down, me and Toby went back to the kitchen where everyone was now.
He stayed close to me because he knew how nervous I was. I wasn't afraid of them, I will definitely have a word with them, but I hate being in the center of drama so much, it drains all my energy.
