Being Zayne's girlfriend is truly a blessing. He doesn't force himself on you. He's the exact definition of a gentleman. Y/N can never ask for more.

Though at some times, she feels distant from him. It's as if, his heart isn't fully devoted to her.

Y/N tried to ignore her own observations. She loves Zayne. Very terribly.

"Zayne! Dr. Greyson sent me a message saying that you're not responding to his messages. He says that it's urgent." She knocked on the door, slowly opening it.

She saw Zayne, drowning in his own thoughts. His hands covering his face. Has he even noticed her walk in?

"Zayne? Hello?" Y/N called out, snapping Zayne out of his thoughts as his gaze instantly shifts to meet hers.

"You look troubled."

Her fingers found their way to gently ruffle his hair, attempting to make him feel relaxed. Even if it's just a little bit.

Although slightly, Y/N managed to calm him down. Zayne's breath slowly relaxed.

"Y/N, I'm sorry." Zayne whispered out, pulling Y/N close, making her sit on his lap as he nuzzled on the crook of her neck.

"Is this about Dr. Greyson? Did he tell you some unpleasant news?"

"It's nothing. He just told me that I need to go back to Akso Hospital in Linkon. A patient is looking for me there." He let out a sigh, Y/N can feel that he's shaking.

"Who's the patient? If they're finding you, that means the both of you are in good terms, right?" Your hands instinctively wrapped up around him.

Y/N's not sure but she had a guess. Maybe it's the girl in the picture she found inside Zayne's old things. It also says in an old letter that the girl is usually sick.

At the back of her mind she's thinking, is the girl the reason why Zayne pursued to be a doctor? A cardiologist to be exact.

"She's an old friend. We didn't end on... good terms because of reasons." After Zayne replied, Y/N lifted up his chin, wanting to observe his reaction.

His usual blank stare remained the same, feigning no emotion.

"I'd love to see Linkon, Zayne. After your shift, let's take a stroll around." She smiles, "plus, maybe you and your friend can reconnect. You know, bring back some old memories. I want to meet her too."

"She seems special to you."

"She is." This is what Zayne wanted to say. But he only knew it would create conflict between him and Y/N.

He had already moved on from MC. He knew it- or he's just thinking that way. It wouldn't be that bad seeing her again, right?

Zayne's now happy with Y/N. And as for MC, she's happy with her newfound love.

Moving on is stupid. "She wasn't even mine to begin with." He thought.

Zayne moved closer to kiss Y/N's cheek.

"You deserve someone that will surely love you whole." He mumbled, however, Y/N did not understand.

"Hm?"

"We'll stay at Linkon for a few days. You know I can't refuse you."

Y/N smiled when Zayne agreed. Yet, she .feels as if, her boyfriend isn't telling something. She can't point it out, but she knew he's hiding something.
