Rapunzel frantically cleaned her things. The witch was coming, and Rapunzel needed the tower to look as if nobody lived there, of she'd go insane. Currently, her toepwer looked like a pig lived there. Rapunzel wondered if and how she could clean it in the short time it would take the witch to get there. She hurried and made her bed. She stuffed her trash into her dresser, which, being enchanted to keep things clean, made it disappear. She picked up books off the floor and shoved them onto a shelf. She found some dirty clothes and other knickknacks underneath her bed and was finished, jus it time, for, as soon as she'd sat down to breath, the witch began chanting.
"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!" Chanted the witch. Within second, Rapunzel felt herself move towards the window and lower her hair. No matter how much Rapunzel would have loved to refuse the witch's request, she couldn't. The witch had power over her, and was controlling her every move.
Rapunzel screamed in pain as the witch grabbed her hair and pulled herself up. Tears fell from her eyes. If so much as the weight of Rapunzel's hair alone was enough to cause her pain. Then this was torture. Thankfully, the witch was quick. It took her under a minute to climb the forty foot tower. One she'd reached the top, Rapunzel fell to her knees and continued to cry. She tried to soothe the pain by massaging her head, but her attempts failed. The witch rolled her eyes.
"Rapunzel. You've got to be used to it by now. It's been 16 years!" She said. Rapunzel wiped her teary eyes and got up.
"I'm sorry." She said quietly. The witch moved on.
"Looks like your room is clean...good..." Said the witch. Rapunzel breathed a sigh of relief, but then the witch stopped short. "Wait." The witch flicked her wrist, and her blanket, sheets, and everything concealing the mess of her room. Rapunzel backed into a corner.
"What is this!" Screeched the Which. "What is this?"
"Um, well you..." Stuttered Rapunzel. She took a deep breath. "I didn't know you'd be back so soon, I didn't have time too-"
"Unacceptable! Absolutely unacceptable!"
"I'm sorry!" Said Rapunzel.
"I have taken care of you for 16 long years, Rapunzel." Said the witch. "I have fed you, provided clothing for you, and you can't even keep your room clean!" The witches looked her hard in the eye. "Have you practiced?" Rapunzel nervously avoided the witch's gaze.
"Well, not exactly..."
"Not exactly?" What do you mean, 'not exactly?' Did you or did you not?"
"Well, I, I didn't." The witch took a deep breath.
"You didn't. And why exactly, did you not practice? Obviously it's not because you were busy cleaning, the ONLY OTHER THING you were supposed to do!"
"Because I didn't want to!" Screamed Rapunzel. "I don't want to learn dark magic." The witch began furiously screeching.
"I was promised! They promised me!" She shouted. "They said if I took YOU from your parents, you would have an apt for magic, you'd be as good as me! So why, WHY, won't you practice?"
"Because it's wrong! It's called DARK magic for a reason, and I don't want any part in that."
"Rapunzel, you have no choice. One way or another, you will learn." The witch thrust a basket of food at her. "I'll be back in three weeks. When I get back, I want your room clean and magic practiced, you understand me?" Rapunzel nodded, and the witch snapped her fingers and disappeared. Rapunzel, still shaking against the wall and heaved a sigh of relief. She slowly walked over to her bed and collapsed on it.
