The ambulance blared loudly, attracting the unknowing passersby to the front of the one storied building. It didn't take much wisdom to realize what was going on, something had happened to the house owner.

A small crowd began to form on the road of Redemption street, each person with the aim of discovering what was going on in Mr. Jenkins' house. The police had secured the area and since not just anyone could enter, they could only make speculations about the matter.

Some few minutes after the ambulance had arrived and the crowd had gathered, a truck rolled up from across the house. Officer Beckett got down and slammed the door shut, his eyes held a blazing fury as he marched past the crowd and swung his leg over the tape that surrounded the yard. James followed behind with a frustrated sigh.

"Sir." the few officers that stood at the front yard saluted when they saw Beckett. He responded with a salute and walked to the back of the house towards the shed. He walked in a zigzag manner, trying to avoid the blood stains that littered on the snow covered ground.

Officer Beckett opened the door to the shed and entered, James hesitated but followed with a sharp look from him.

Officer Lily and another local officer stood next to the body, with some other death care professionals and murder specialists as they examined the body whilst taking photographs. The chief of police was also there with an indescribable look on his face.

"Why wasn't I informed of this?"  he asked, his eyes on Officer Lily.

She turned to face him, then scoffed, "you shouldn't be here Beckett."

"Was that why no one told me about the murder?"

Officer Lily sighed, then walked towards him till they stood at close proximity to each other, "look here, this happened in our municipal and it's a case for our local police," she folded her arms across her chest, "you were only brought here to find the mayor's missing daughter and she's been found. So quit," she jabbed his chest with her index finger.

"Poking," another jab.

"Your nose," and another.

"In matters that don't concern you."

Officer Beckett smirked and looked down at her, "I'm a detective, all crimes concern me." he said, then brushed her aside.

As he began to move closer to the body, Officer Lily grabbed his wrist in a firm grip that was surprising for a small woman. He turned to look at her and their eyes locked in a battle of wills, none of them willing to back down.

"Enough of that, let him be Lily," Chief Rowan called out, "we'll be needing his expertise."

Officer Lily let go of his wrist and scoffed, "we put Sam in the ambulance, he was hysterical. Once he gets checked, he'll be called in for questioning," she said.

"Who's Sam?" Officer Beckett asked, walking closer to the body.

"Sam is a delivery man here, he was the one who found Mr. Jenkins dead." Chief Rowan replied.

So Jenkins was the dead man's name, the first thing he noticed when he got closer to the body was the knife embedded deeply on his chest. There was nothing peculiar about the knife, it was the lack of blood that stood out. The man's clothes were without stains and not even an inch of blood was seen on the floor where he lay. He looked at the man's face, his dark eyes were wide with horror and his lips were a pale blue, one could only wonder the pain he had experienced before death took him. He seemed to be in his mid fifties and from the clothes he wore, anyone could tell he was rich.
