SEPTEMBER 1st 1991
The glimmer of excitement vanished from the boy's eyes just as fast as it had appeared. The small smile was replaced by a scowl that Calista soon learned was to be his usual expression. His white blonde hair was sculpted in place by too much gel, and there was not a single wrinkle in his uniform. Nothing could've destroyed his perfect appearance if it weren't for his eyes. They were like two storm clouds. The feelings inside them were hard to suppress, even for him.
She almost felt sorry for him. He had just started his first year at Hogwarts and was trying to make friends, just as she did. Maybe his approach wasn't the smartest one, but could she blame him? She was just as bad at making friends. Maybe she should ask him if he wanted to be friends with her? Maybe that would put the smile back on his face.
She had almost gathered her courage as he suddenly stepped away from Harry Potter and his friends and stalked towards her. When he was next to her, he shot her a glare and bumped his shoulder into hers with a lot more force than necessary.
She stumbled to her left and widened her eyes at him, her mouth already opening in protest, but he was gone long before she could think about the right words to scold him. In that moment she decided that she didn't want to be friends with him. Never in her life would she smile at him again. Smiles were reserved for her friends. And she would make some, she was sure of it. But Draco Malfoy wouldn't be one of them.
