"Hello, my brother is not picking up my call past two days so I had to reach to you Ma'am, can you check on him and let me know " Jimin questioned one of the authority of his brother's college with hope to find about his brother's wellbeing. But soon his hope was crushed as the authority let him know his brother's truth.
A truth that halted his breathe, sent shivering in his whole body,his legs started wobbling and couldn't take his weight anymore as he landed on the floor,not believing what he heard.
"I am sorry Jimin but I didn't know you don't know the truth,how they didn't let you know such big thing. Jimin this is disheartening to let you know that Jihoon is no more with us, he committed suicide two days back and Mr and Mrs Park knows it all, infact they did all the after works required. I am so sorry Jimin they didn't tell you, you don't deserve to know this truth like this" Mrs Yoon said apologetically.
So how come Jimin doesn't know about his own brother's death. The answer lies in their twisted family dynamics. A family decorated with such glitters and shines, what lies beneath them is the horrific site of a broken family.
Jihoon wasn't Jimin's brother by blood, he was a foreign being in their family, yet he was the closest to him. The true bond ,the love, the care they had between them was something his parents hated about them which caused their seperation resulting in different college, different city and whole different lives.
But Jimin never thought their hatred towards them will cost his last visit to his brother.His brother, his little Jihoon always smiling through all kind of pain he received yet always thought of others before himself, strong , independent, smart . How how can he take such step?
Was it a suicide even?
There were 100's of questions floating in Jimin's mind,his heart was hurting and his body was physically paining. His brother is no more. His reason to go back home is no more.
All Jimin can do is ASK.
Ask his parents why they hide such big thing from him.
Ask his brother's friend why he took such step.
Ask himself how he never noticed his brother needed help.
