High Prosecutor's Office - Room 1202 ~ Miles Edgeworth's POV

The names that we found written in that case file extended for a page and a half. I scanned every single name that was written there.

- Victims -
Pandora Lug Liev
Dike Tomov
Travis Harpman
Kirk Marinov
Narcissus Lyudmila
Angus Medrod
Yasen Atanasov
Luna Martinez
Chaz Anahita
Bharata Petrov
Leandros Georgiev
Gabriela Etza
Viktoriya Elissa
Alianna Wood

Only two names stuck out to me.

Chaz Anahita and Alianna Wood.

Just who were these people? What possible motive could the Shinokage have for killing them - any of them?

As I began to read through the finer details, the pieces began to slowly fall into place...

Defendant Lobby No. 2 ~ Emily Rivera's POV

(Today's the day... There are news reporters flooding this place.)

My name is Emily Rivera. I'm a defense attorney, and today I've taken on a very big case.

There's been a string of murders recently. One person has died every day for two weeks, and just three days ago there was another murder. The murder victim was the wife of a high court jurist, Alianna Wood. Her body was found in her husband's office, along with their three-year-old daughter. Luckily, she was unharmed.

These killings were all committed by the Shinokage, an assassin. For whatever reason, this assassin was going around killing members of the law enforcement or people close to them. Needless to say, lots of people have been devastated.

I'd heard that Mrs. Wood's husband was to take the witness stand, as he and his secretary had found the body.

(I can't imagine what it must've been like... Finding your wife's corpse and your scarred daughter in your own office...)

I was snapped out of my thoughts when the defendant approached me.

"H-H-Hi..." she muttered. Her green hair was tied back into a ponytail (like me!) and she wore a low-cut red dress with red shoes.

"Oh! Hello! You must be the defendant in this case! My name is Emily Rivera and I shall be your defense attorney!" I introduced myself with a smile.

"M-My name's... Ellie Appleton..." the defendant muttered.

My smile wavered slightly. (The police suspect THIS person of being the Shinokage...?)

"W-Well, don't worry!" I told Ms. Appleton. "I'll do anything and everything I can to prove you're not the culprit!"

"Thank you." Ms. Appleton replied.

The bailiff called us into the courtroom.

"Well, it's time." I said. "Let's go."
