"Admit it. You've at least listened to a few of my songs." I smirked at Jade who sat across from me. Our first destination of our adventurous date was breakfast. I took her to an IHOP since it was close to our next stop.
Jade twirled the straw in her smoothie. "Maybe."
"Which ones?"
"You're really fucking cocky." She laughed in disbelief as she looked up at me. I smiled and shrugged.
"Thank you." Jade playfully rolled her eyes at me. "But seriously, which ones?"
"Okay, maybe I listened to your whole album, Silence Between Songs. Uh Good in Goodbye and maybe BOYSHIT." Jade muttered under her breath softly. "But that's it."
"You're a fan." I decided with a smirk, watching Jade's head snap up at me. "What? Am I wrong?"
"Just 'cause I listen to your music, does not mean I'm a fan." She raised a brow, making me raise my hands in the hair in defense.
"Sorry, sweetheart. Getting all defensive here, aren't we?" Jade rolled her eyes, sitting back with a cross of her arms. "Hey. I'm sorry for assuming, let's start over."
Jade looked at me for a second in thought before nodding. "Okay. What's your favorite color?"
"Are we in kindergarten?" I laughed, wincing as Jade punched my arm.
"Just answer the question, dumbass." She smiled. Her smile was too contagious for me to pretend to be mad at her.
"Okay, okay. Purple, you?"
Jade hummed. "I like purple too." She clapped her hands together slightly, sipping her smoothie again.
"Ooh, what do you think is the best song you've made?" I asked, watching her open her mouth and close a couple times, trying to think of an answer. "It's hard, huh?"
"Yeah, it is." She chuckled, making me smile. "Best song? Probably... either Traitor or the grudge. Both songs truly represent how I feel in powerful and emotional ways, you know?"
"I literally love both of them." I said, causing Jade to be a little surprised. "But my favorite one you've written is drivers license. I know it's cliche and typically, but nothing beats it. I swear, that song never gets old for me." She chuckled, a little bit of red coating her face. "That and probably hope ur ok. I feel like that is underrated as hell."
"Thank you!" She laughed and set her hand on the table. "Not many people listen to it and I personally think it's amazing."
I smiled as I let Jade ramble on and on about music. We switched over from her favorite songs of hers and mine, to just songs and artists that we admire in general. She was very much into white girl music, some country but only if it was written by certain artists, definitely pop with r&b, etc.
Point was that I learned a lot about her before our food even arrived. She was warming up to me so much, I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. Even while we were eating, Jade continued to talk. I love a good yapper, she doesn't disappoint when she rambles, it's adorable.
"And so Nick-" Jade began laughing before stopping as she set her fork down. "Am I talking too much?"
"What? No, no. Not at all, Jade, please keep talking." It almost sounded like I was begging — I almost did, I'd give anything to hear her voice all the time.
"Oh. Are you sure?" I could tell this was an insecurity of hers.
"Definitely. Please." I gestured to her with a smile, taking a bite of my bacon as I gave her my full attention again.
Jade smiled before continued to talk. "And so Nick came downstairs wearing my crop top but he almost fell down the stairs since he was wearing my heels. This is why he doesn't play Truth or Dare with me anymore."

"What's next?" Jade asked as we left the restaurant, hopping back on my bike. I pushed down her visor then mine while starting the bike up.
"You'll see. It's a surprise." I drove off, feeling her arms immediately tighten around me again. I continued to drive until we stopped in the parking lot of a nearby park. "We're here."
Jade stood from my bike, a little wobbly since she was still getting used to it. I took her helmet for her and put it down with mine. "The park?" She asked.
"Yeah, come here." I held out my hand for her, smiling when she grabbed it without a second thought this time. We walked past the playground and walked over to this giant open field. In the distance, a batting fence was standing there.
I let go of Jade's hand as we got closer. "What's this?" She asked curiously.
"Let's swing." I chuckled and held up the baseball supplies. Jade gasped excitedly as I handed her the wooden bat. "I'll throw the ball and you just hit it, you don't have to run if you don't want to."
Jade nodded as she got into position in front of the fence. I backed away a little, giving ourselves some room while slipping on the baseball mitt in my left hand. I threw with my right and Jade was able to hit it immediately — not very far since I stuck my hand up and caught it.
"No fair!" She exclaimed from where she was with a smirk on her face.
"All's fair in love and sports, baby!" I chuckled back at her, giving it another toss. After around 3 more tosses, Jade was finally able to hit one that flew way above my head, almost landing in the lake. "Nice hit!"
"I know." Jade puckered her lips as she shrugged proudly. I shook my head with a smile and lightly jogged over to grab the ball. "Wanna hit?" She asked me when I came back.
"Sure." Jade grabbed the ball from my hands as well as the mitt while I held the bat in mine now. "Ready?"
I nodded my head and took my position, adjusting my posture before Jade threw the ball. I didn't exactly miss but I swung a little too late that I only hit it a little, causing it to roll a few feet away from me.
Jade laughed as I tossed the ball back to her. I couldn't help but smile. She gave me another throw where i proceeded to hit it straight towards her. She ducked to the ground. "Why'd you duck? You have a glove for a reason!"
Jade flipped me off, causing me to laugh as I ran to her. "I got too scared, I'm not a sports girly for a reason." She shrugged and clung to my arm as she looked up at me. "Don't make me do it again."
I looked into her eyes and just about melted. "Okay." I whispered softly with a small smile. "Let's go to our next stop, yeah?"
Jade smiled immediately, nodding as I grabbed the rest of our supplies, following after the skippy girl who was first to my bike. "Come on, slow ass. I'm actually excited."
"Because of me?" I smirked, making her blush as she shoved my shoulder.
"Shut up. Let's go." She hopped on the back and I laughed again, getting in front. "Onwards and upwards!" Jade yelled as we put our helmets back on after tucking the supples away in the back, driving off.
