3rd--

Arguing could be heard throughout the Todoroki household, disturbing the never-peaceful atmosphere even more. It was a toxic household that's for sure. The ones arguing were Enji and Rei Todoroki, Rei tried keeping her voice down because her newborn was trying to sleep. But it was to no avail because cries could be heard from the room, due to Enji's carelessness.

Rei tried leaving the room to calm the baby, but Enji didn't allow her and got busy yelling his throat out at her again. So the Todoroki siblings went instead, they quietly entered the room where the baby was, the Japanese-themed room decor matched the rest of the house. The second-eldest, Fuyumi, picked the baby up, calming her whispering reassuring words to her.

Natsuo sat beside his sister and smiled down at the baby, she had just been born not even a week ago. She was truly a newborn.

She soon stopped crying and just stared up at the two with previously teary eyes. Shoto hesitantly approached them, he wasn't sure how to feel about the new family member just yet. He stared down at the peaceful baby, noticing the blue eyes she had gotten from her father. The baby giggled and reached up towards him, Shoto looked up at his elder siblings, who nodded. Fuyumi carefully put Ketsueki in Shoto's arms, he held her perfectly. Yelling still erupted through the house, but the baby was calm as long as her siblings were there. Quickly falling asleep in Shoto's four-year-old arms.

(This was before the 'incident' btw)

Soon after the yelling stopped, Rei quietly entered the room. Aware that her beautiful newborn's wails had stopped, she thanked her other children as she sat beside them and smiled at the fact the baby was fast asleep in her second youngest arms.

Sure, her husband wasn't much of a husband, but she'd stay for her children who she loved dearly. She couldn't wait to see them grow up, hero or not. She wanted to protect them at all costs... but she already failed once. And she couldn't do it again. Touya died, and that guilt heavily weighed on her. Now, her youngest would never meet the oldest, who died before she was even pregnant with her. And she'd grow up believing Fuyumi is the oldest.

It was only now that she realized Ketsueki had Enji's eyes. It terrified her, she could deal with Shoto's one eye, she'd just have to look at his other. But with her... she couldn't even look into her beautiful baby's eyes now. They reminded her too much of... him.

But she forced herself to pull through for them. It's not their fault, they didn't ask for this.

++ 1yr later

Shoto walked into the doorway, holding his 1-year-old sister in his arms, he looked at his mother who seemed to be making tea, the kettle was whistling. Signaling it was ready. His mother turned to look at them with wide eyes, she mumbled nonsense, apologizing and saying they represented him too much. Before anyone knew it, the boiling water was thrown towards the child and infant.

Hitting Shoto on his fireside of his eye, and some of the water hitting Ketsueki's face to, but more randomly, the baby of course started crying from the pain, and Shoto was holding the baby tight, in shock of what his mother just did, it hurt so bad. It hurt to open his left eye, he looked down at the infant noticing most of her face was red and she was sobbing.

Their mother was sent to a mental hospital after that night, ashamed of what she did of course. The two were bandaged up, Shoto's left eye, and parts of Ketsueki's small face. They were sure to come out with scars.

The baby cried wanting to be in her mother's arms again, unaware that she was the one who did this. She wanted her, and she wouldn't take anything else. But she wasn't allowed, so she was forced to settle with her siblings, sure they calmed her easily from other times, but when a baby was scared it needed it's mother. Now she didn't have that.

Shoto felt guilty to, he was holding Ketsueki, why couldn't he have just turned around to prevent her of getting hurt?? He kept calling himself a terrible older brother, distancing himself from her, to the baby's displeasure.

Fuyumi and Natsuo tried convincing him that it wasn't his fault, but he wouldn't listen. Focusing solely on training, hoping that next time, he'd be strong enough to save her.
