Yachi walks down the new hallway where the 2nd-year students reside. A lot of things have happened since her first year of high school. Karasuno made it to the quarterfinals before losing, Karasuno’s singing team won 1st and performed for everyone, the third years graduated, etc. A lot has weighed heavy on Yachi’s mind since she was now the manager of the boy's team. She also couldn’t help but wonder how (F/n) was doing.
(F/n) had taken a break from posting on her Instagram ever since the day Yachi and her had their talk. (F/n), not only wanted an actual break but was also busy. After their final performance, she was promoted to captain of their signing team, with Fuji as her vice-captain. She felt undeserving of the role, but Iwata insisted, saying she was more than deserving of being captain. Since becoming captain, (F/n) and Fuji had worked diligently all summer to help prepare their new team to guarantee a win at nationals once more.
Despite the two of them being busy, their minds constantly wondered how the other one was doing.
Yachi picked her head up when she heard a familiar laugh. Her eyes stared at (F/n), who was walking down the hall with Fuji. (F/n) had cut her hair and had half of it tied behind her head. She had her normal smirk on her face when Fuji said something and was embarrassed. (F/n) turned her head forward and saw that Yachi was looking at her. Remembering her aunt’s words, she gave Yachi a smile of acknowledgment before turning her attention back to Fuji.
Yachi felt her heart skip a beat when she saw her smile. It’s been a while since she’d seen it, and the feeling Yachi got whenever she saw it hadn’t changed.
