Biography
Richard is Kingpin's son, from a different dimension. His father, not wanting to truly abuse his son, kept both Richard and his mother out of his schemes as Kingpin. This eventually backfired as upon finding out, Vanessa shot and killed Kingpin. Not understanding, a teenage Richard ran away, not wanting to see his mother anymore, who he saw as a 'murderer'. Life continued on for him, however, and he continued going to school. On a school trip, he was bitten by a radioactive spider and became Night-Spider, an alternative version of Spider-Man.
One day, a machine built by a villain accidentally brought him to another dimension. For a while, he continued on as Night-Spider, up until Spider-Man started popping up. He decided to head to another city, where he met Kingpin. The two started working together, as Richard felt familiar to Kingpin, and Richard recognising Kingpin as an alternate version of his father. Still, Richard never felt compelled to stop as Night-Spider, mostly just letting Kingpin do what he wanted, and dealt with any rival groups.
Eventually, he was found by a symbiote, Scion, which took over Richard's body and became a significant threat to the city. He was defeated by the Avengers and Daredevil, but found out that his father had been shot by Maya Lopez, a girl he had hired. Enraged, especially after finding out Maya was still on the loose, Richard swore revenge, giving up the identity of Night-Spider, he broke the symbiote that had controlled him out of containment. Now both wanting revenge on the Avengers (and Daredevil), they two came to an alliance, allowing Scion to maintain control over his body.

* As Scion, his Paralytic venom becomes stronger and more versatile. Instead of needing to bite someone, he can just spit the venom out on them.
* Scion has a tail, the end of it is super sharp and can be used essentially as a knife
* Jonathon never came to him after becoming Spot, because Richard had been missing for about two weeks at that point. He didn't know where Richard was, and didn't recognise Scion as him.
